Julie's P.O.V

"Julie! Time for school, Xander is here to pick you up!" a middle-aged woman yelled from the below a flight of stairs.

"Ughhhh.." I moaned in the middle of brushing my teeth.

I heard hard footsteps coming closer to my room and braced myself knowing who was coming.

"Goodmorning, Beautiful." a voice arose at my bathroom door.

I rolled my eyes and patted down my school clothes making sure there weren't any toothpaste stains. I fluffed my black skirt and double checked my knee-high socks for wrinkling, and then gave the boy at my door the stink eye.

"Good-morning, Xander." I replied as I grabbed my bag off of my bed smoothly walking past him to head down the stairs, but before I could Xander shut the door.

"No good-morning kiss?" he asked with puppy dog eyes.

I groaned in reply and kissed him on the cheek, "School." I reminded as I opened the door and headed down the stairs.

I waved to my mom, who was to busy talking to Xander to even notice. I frowned and headed out to my Jeep. Ah, the beauty. She was a four by four and shined prettier than she ever has before. I smiled looking at it, and hopped in hoping to leave Xander behind.

"Babe, wait for me!" Xander called as he ran after the already moving car.

Darn, so close... I thought then smiled as I opened the passenger door.
Xander hopped in and grinned at me, "You're especially grumpy this morning, babe."

I faked a laugh and headed on to school.

Once there, Xander's arm went immediately around my shoulder, smiling and waving to everyone who passed. I hated it. Why was I even dating him? I wanted someone who drove me crazy, not someone who was my lapdog. I wanted someone new. I've known Xander since we were kids, and everyone knew we'd end up together. In the small town we were in, there was a 1% chance of someone who didn't know me showing up.
As soon as I looked up it was already time for lunch. I sighed as Xander immediately attached to my hip.

I smiled falsely as Xander cracked a joke at their lunch table. I looked at my best friend, Jessica, and gave her a blank look. Jessica just smiled, she was my best friend since diapers. Obviously, she knew what was going on.

"Julie, look." Jessica said nodding over to a mysterious guy.
I looked over smiling broadly, the man was tall, good-looking, his hair was the perfect shade of brown and the perfect thing to run your hands through. I gasped when he looked dead into my eyes. He smirked seeing my dismay and turned back to his food.

"Hey! Hey! JUL." Xander called.

"H-Huh?" everyone at their table burst out in laughter.

"Babe, what's wrong?"

"N-Nothing, hun." I had to stay faithful. Xander was important to me, but not in the way he thought he was. I loved him like a brother. I couldn't hurt him.

There was something about that boy though. Something I needed and craved.

I glanced back over to the boy, and he was staring right at me. I quickly turned away embarrassed.

"Babe?" Xander asked, as I got up from the table leaving my tray behind.

"I'm not feeling well." I stated.

"It's only 4th Period!" Xander called after me as I escaped.

I thought about where to go, but before I could answer my own question a hand grabbed my wrist.

"Xander,–"

"Not Xander." a deep voice erupted shocking me.

I turned and looked and there he was, Mr. Hot New Guy. Why did HE have to be the one to follow me? I looked into his light-brown eyes with confusion on my face.

"Watch your step." He said letting go and walking around me.

I turned around and backed up a little. I was about to trip over a caution sign, typical. I looked at the New guy while he passed me, and bit my lip. This wasn't going to turn out well.
