Adventures of Fidd and Ford : candy monster

Chapter 1

It was midnight. Moonlight was streaming in through the blinds. Fidd and Ford were peacefully slumbering side by side in their shared bed. A noise coming from the kitchen woke Fidd up with a jolt. He sat up, listening out for the noise. Then the sound of bottles clinking and draws opening came again from the kitchen. Fidd Leaned over Ford who was still sleeping.
"Ford!" He whispered in his ear. Ford didn't respond, deep in his sleep.
"Stanford!" He whispered again but shook his shoulder.
"What?" Ford groaned as he fell out of his slumber.
"I think someone's in the house" Fidd whispered as he clung onto Fords shoulder.
"Nonsense. It's probably the wind" he said before trying to go back to sleep.
"Ford just listen!" He whispered as shook his shoulder once more. Ford groaned and sat up to listen out for the sound. Then came the loud creek of a cupboard opening and the sound of knives and forks hitting the floor. Ford looked over at his frightened partner.
"That definitely wasn't the wind" he whispered as Fidd's hand grabbed hold of his.
"Like I was tellin' ya, there's someone in the house" his grip on Fords hand tightened.
"Grab you banjo" Ford whispered as he got out of the bed in nothing but his pyjama top and boxers.
"Why?"
"It's the best thing we got to protect ourselves" Ford looked Fidd in the eye. "come on" Ford beckoned Fidd out of the bed as he grabbed the door handle.
"What? Your going out there? The intruders out there!" Fidd panicked. 'What if the intruder had a weapon?' He thought to himself.
"Yes, no skilled human would make that much noise. I think it's the thing that's been eating the left overs and part of my socks" Ford twisted the handle. "Come on Fidd, I'm not leaving you in here alone" he reached out of Fidd. Fidd huffed and got out of bed. He picked up his banjo and met ford at the door.
"But if its a burglar and we die I'm blaming you!" Fidd growled as Ford led him out of the bedroom.
