I've tried telling my family about my anxiety issues but it doesn't go very well. They don't get it. For my parents, mental illness is a relatively new thing. And with the glorification of it as some sort of crazy and bad thing in most media/television/movies, I don't think they'd ever just miraculously change out of the blue and completely understand.
Also when I've tried to talk about the topic with my siblings, they've just called me a single word. "Coward". I'm not even making this up. On both accounts of talking about it, they've called me a coward and just told me to toughen up.
This is a frustrating time...
