~This is an analogy I've come up with to explain my anxiety to people who don't get it and the affect it can have on a person suffering from it.~
Anxiety is like drowning in the ocean. When you're drowning, you call out to the people on shore- the people who aren't drowning and have never experienced anything like it. But they don't believe you're in that much danger. "Stop messing around!",They say, "You're just being overly dramatic!". So, due to the lack of help you receive, you begin to sink and struggle more against the strong, deadly current of the waves. Then, before anyone can utter a single breath, you're gone. Lost beneath the waves. And only then do they realize the terrible affect the water had on you, resulting in your death.
*These are serious matters. So treat them as such.*
