-"Alice! Axel! Breakfast is ready!"-Madeline Temp shouted from the kitchen to me and my brother. For being only our cousin, she's really bossy (She's not actually our cousin, but that's what we say to everybody, because how can you explain you are her uncle or aunt by many, MANY generations?)
I ran from my room, walking at the old hallways and throwing myself at the stair's wood railing. I slid all the way down and landed on my heels at the first floor. Everyone in the house (including Axel) hated my more-fun way to get down the stairs. The say I can get myself kill, but I know every little corner of this house.
And, besides, it's one of the last things I have from my old self...
I walked from the hallway entrance to the kitchen to find myself with Madeline flipping in the air a French toast in a fry pan (YEESSS!!!!). Her warm smile greeted me.
Madeline is seventeen (unlike my brother and me, she really is seventeen. She even looks older than we do! That's unfair...). She has brown flat hair, dark brown eyes, the characteristic pale skin of a Temp, she's a bit taller than me (actually, a lot taller than me, at least five more inches than me, but not more than Axel.), and she wears glasses that are always resting on the bridge of her nose. She's more voluminous than me, but not the bad type. She looks mature and pretty for her age.
-"Good morning-yawn-Maddie."- I sat on the table and looked at her with foggy eyes.
-"I made some French toast, burn on the corners, just like a musical someone likes them..."-said Madeline in a cheerful, good morning voice.
-"Great!"- It wasn't sarcasm. Maybe I'm dry, but I love my burn frenchies, even more if they were cooked by Maddie. She has a special gift for cooking. Her food tastes like heaven dropped their dinner on Earth by accident and landed on our stove, to be served to us... What an honor.
However, like everybody, she has a defect: she's SUPER annoying sometimes. She can drive you banana smoothie with nuts on top. But, we are family. In the strange family way, we love her.
-"Good morning, people!"- Axel appeared from the service stairs...I don't know why, but he likes them. Not all houses have them, but ours is big... Too big to be a house... Well, it's not a house.
We live on a mansion. A some-centuries-old mansion. The kind of mansion a family can have because it's pass from generation to generation.
And this mansion, in particular, saw Alice Temp and Axel Temp do what nobody alive has seen them do...
Grow up.
My brother and me are like vampires. Haven't tasted blood in our lives, but still looking exactly the same as years ago.
The point is that this is OUR mansion, The Temp Mansion. It sound obvious, but it's classy at the same time.
It has history, beginning as far as the year of 1610, when it was constructed by Alexandro Tempo, a rich man from Italy that came to America for more opportunities.
Wanting a new life, Alexandro changed his name to Alexander Temp and made a house big enough for ten people, to begin a new family with his new life.
To make history short, he met a British girl named Lucy Stone, fell in love, blah, blah, blah, married, had three kids, blah, blah, and the family grew.
It also began to witness the crazy stuff that came every year. From great fancy parties...to heart breaking funerals...
Axel interrupted my thoughts as he finished his descending from the stairs, almost running, full of energy... not like me. It should be illegal to be that happy on theses hours.-"It's first day of school, it means new rules."-He almost sang.
