Charlotte and Charmaine

Chapter Two

It was Friday already and still, Charlotte isn’t at school. I’m starting to worry about her. She’s not yet home since Saturday.

"Josh, you know what? Im going to your house after school. I can’t take it anymore. I miss my twin. I can’t live without her. I want to talk to her.” I said breaking the silent between me and Josh. She  didn’t go home since Saturday and my mom is on a business trip. Our dad left us when we were 3 years old. I didn’t told mom about Charlotte.

“I dont know? I think it’s a really bad idea Charm” he said scratching the back of his neck.

“Then try to talk to her. You’re her best friend, she trusts you. Please Josh” I pleaded.

“Okay, I’ll try my best to explain it to her”

“Thanks a lot Josh, I’ll talk to you later.” I went to my last class for the afternoon.

Afternoon classes ended and I went home. I was driving when I saw Charlotte with Mike Riley. Mike Riley is the most popular guy at school. He’s blonde and hot but he is also a player. I parked my car near a mini store and with sweaty hands, I walked towards the direction of Mike and Charlotte.

“Charlotte, we need to talk”

“About what sis?” she said smiling. Is she in a good mood?

“You know, about last Saturday. I miss you. Im sorry!” I hugged her.

“You dont have to, Im sorry! I was just over-reacting that time. Im so sorry Charm. Mike told me everything. He told me about Alexis plan. You were right.  We shouldn’t have to that lame party” She said and hugged me back.

“I love you Charlotte”

“I love you too sis”

“Hey Mike! Thanks for telling Charlotte. You’re the best!” I said giving Mike my best smile.

“No problem, I should go now. I dont wanna ruin your moment with your twin”

“No! It’s okay. Why dont we get an ice cream. We should celebrate” Charlotte suggested.

“Yes we should. Come on Riley!” I didn’t realize that I was now talking to the hottest guy at school. This day is just getting better and better.

After eating our ice cream, I gave Riley a ride home since his car broke yesterday.

“Thanks for the ride Charmaine” Riley said before opening the passengers door.

“No problem” I replied  shaking his hands “And thanks again!”

“Okay, and Charlotte?” he faced Charlotte

“Yeah?” she replied.

“Stay out of trouble!” he gave Charlotte a kiss on the forehead. Oh my gosh! They look so cute together.

“No problem. See you at school Ri!”

“OMG! Is Mike your boyfriend?” I asked Charlotte. We are watching some random movies.

“No! why?”

“He kissed you on the forehead, what was that for?” I asked.

“That was just a freindly kiss, nothing else. We’ve been hanging out together for a week you know.” She said while her eyes are focused on the screen.

“For a week!?” I asked shock.

“You dont know?” now she look at me.

“WHAT!? I dont know what?”

“duh? You’re so dumb Charmaine! Mike Riley is Josh’s step brother.”

“What!?”

“Do I have to say it over again?”

“No I heard you, but HOW!?”

“I dont know? We’ve been hanging out for only a week. He can’t just tell me his family issues, right?”

“I know” I said still amused.

We didn’t talk after that.  Charlotte was focusing on the movie we’re watching and my mind is still wondering about Riley and Josh.

Charlottes POV

"Uhm... Charlotte can I ask you something?" Mike said while we were walking at the park. I was with Charmaine and Josh a while ago but Mike asked them to leave because he was going to talk to about something in private.

Me: "Yeah, about what?"

Mike: "About us"

Oh yeah! By the way. Mike is actually my boyfriend. After I broke up with Kevin, the next day (Sunday) he just talked to me, he told me to move on. It feels good to be with him then he told me that he actually liked me for a year now. He also broke up with his girlfriend Georgia Locke last month, he maybe a player but he is sweet deep inside. He is a good person and that's when I told him  that I liked him too then he asked me to be his girfriend, of course I said YES. We've been a great friends before I met Kevin. He's my best friend too, not only Josh. I never told this to Charmaine because Josh told me that she find Mike really attractive. She didn't told him that she actually like Mike, she just find Mike gorgeous. Well, every girl does. But I'd rather keep my mouth shut and not tell Charmaine about our relationship.

Me: "What?"

Mike: "I..." (he paused for exactly 10 seconds, Im freaking out. What is going to say now?) "I....."
