Never coming back

Lauren's POV

'Lauren Christine! Come back RIGHT NOW!' I heard Christina, my oldest sister, shout to me as I ran out of our house and down the drive to the road, tears streaming down my face.

I wasn't going to go back. Not until dark tonight anyway.

It had all come to a climax; the months of Christina making snide comments to me, the months of crying myself to sleep, I just needed it to stop.

I reached our local church and slowed to a walk, before crossing myself and stepping over the threshold.

I sat alone at the back and reflected on when Christina started to hate me...

It was about four months ago, the end of 2013, we were filming a Christmas cover. I can't remember what song it was; I try to block the memory of that day.

We had recorded, filmed, and uploaded it in early December, and the morning after we uploaded it, Christina stormed into my room I shared with Lisa and Dani.

'Lisa! How could you?' She yelled at my older sister, who took out her headphones in bewilderment at Christina's sudden outburst.

'W-what?' She asked confused. 'What do you think? You edited the video and uploaded, and the whole video is filled with Lauren, the fans love her now because you made it pretty much all about her!' She shouted, pointing at me as if I was a creature from another world.

'I'm sorry, if you think that, I just put in a few more shots of her than usual, y'know, to keep up her popularity. It's because recently we've been kinda promoting you and the others more, so it's not focused on Lauren and I as it was last year and everything...' Lisa said slowly, trying to calm Christina down.

'I know that, you idiot! But now every single comment is about Lauren, and her beauty, and her voice, and I'll tell you something, I'm just sick of her being so freaking amazing, I think she should just leave the band, Lauren should!' Christina shouted back, this time aiming her anger directly at me.

And that's how it started. That day Christina called a band meeting to kick me out, but she was voted against so I stayed. Since then though, she's made my life a living hell, making little comments everyday that no one else notices except Lisa, who is the only one who knows the root of the problem. I tried to speak to mom about it, but because the comments are small and harmless to anyone except me, I don't get far.

And so here I am, in church. Praying silently and wondering if I should just quit the band. Half of me wants to, but the other, stronger, half wants me to stay strong and show Christina that I'm here to stay.

I close my eyes and feel a tap on my shoulder.
