After hauling Seto into a bed and tending to his lashings and black eye, it was nearly nighttime. Everyone else had gone to bed early, except for me. Seto was stuck in a confined area to be watched over for a little while to make sure he wouldn't run away again.

Stepping outside, a wave of cool air hit me in the face, making my hair blow in front of my face. I pushed a curly strand of hair out of my face, and pushed up my glasses. The sky above me was painted an inky black, dotted with tiny white stars. I wasn't tired, so I decided to go sit in a nearby tree and look at the sky for a little while. I also wanted to try to clear my head a little too.

I climbed up to a large, sturdy branch, and pressed my back into the soft trunk. Sighing, I thought about everything that had happened so far. My capture, meeting people like me, and Seto's incident. A lot to happen in a few days.

I began to close my eyes, the weight of sleep beginning to overcome me, when I heard something rustle the leaves above me. Twisting my head, I looked at the branch above me, and saw a large animal sitting on it. It had 2 long legs, and large black wings. It grumbled, and I instantly knew who it was.

I stood up, and began climbing up to the next branch. I grabbed the branch, and effortlessly pulled myself up. I didn't even shake the branch as I stood up on it.

"You never told me you were part bat." I said jokingly. Ty jumped, and whipped his head around, his dark purple eyes wide with fright.

"God Sky, you nearly gave me a heart attack!" He said, trying to regain his composure.

"What are you doing out so late? Shouldn't you been asleep?" I asked, sitting down next to him. He shrugged.

"I could ask you the same thing."

"I wasn't tired. I figured a little bit of fresh air could do me some good." I said, my voice hushed. Ty nodded. He looked up at the sky, kicking his legs.

I snuck a look at him as he looked up at the dark sky. The inky blackness of his wings blended right into the sky, but his purple eyes and headphones stood out exceptionally well against the dark canvas. He looked so content out here, in the dark.

"Hey Ty, can I ask you something?" I asked suddenly. He looked away from the sky, and nodded slightly.

"How did you become...what you are?" I asked, cautious of the words I used. I braced myself for some sort of rude remark or even a claw or two, but all he did was sigh.

"I wasn't always like this. Actually, I was a normal boy. As normal as they come." He said, glancing quickly at me before looking away.

"It was a few years ago. I was outside, playing in my backyard, when a loud eruption had come from the center of the town. The center of the town housed the only portal to the end. I don't want to get into too much detail, but in short, the Ender Dragon had found a way to make it into the normal world. But, he couldn't live very long in the normal world as a dragon. So, he needed a vassal. You know, someone who contains a part of the soul so it can stay alive. Unfortunately, the phrase "curiosity killed the cat" was given a new meaning to me. I happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and I became the unfortunate soul. Although, now that the dragon lived inside me, I guess my old soul doesn't exist. I'm just the human version of the Enderdragon." He said, laying his chin on his knees, which he had pulled close to his body. I was dumbfounded.

Quietly, I whispered," Did it hurt?" Ty turned his head, so he was looking directly at me, and nodded. "It hurt. It hurt so much. I can still feel the pain every so often, the feeling of the wings, the eyes, the claws, my own soul being ripped out...." By now, his eyes had begun to glaze over with tears.

Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around his shoulders, consoling him. He always acted so strong around everyone else, but right here, right now, he was just a shattered boy.

"What about you Sky? What's your story?" Ty said, wiping forming tears out of his eyes. I quickly dropped my arms, embarrassed.

"Well, my dad, Herobrine, married a mortal girl named Leah. They had me not long after being married, but Leah had died while giving birth to me. Every Brine's mother has died while giving birth; it just happens. So I was raised with my dad my whole life. I learned how to fight and use my powers, and I was taught how to spread evil and do evil curses. But I never really liked that lifestyle. The sight of blood makes my stomach flip. So when I finally got old enough, I decided to move out. Herobrine wasn't happy about it, but I convinced him to let me go. And, then you kinda know where it goes from there." I said, old memories flashing through my mind. Ty nodded, fully listening.

"I guess in this place, none of us have a normal background. And none of us are whole either." Ty muttered. I nodded.
"Sometimes I just want to yell out into the world, ask why I am what I am, and why I have to suffer the consequences of another." He continued, clenching his jaw.

He looked at me again. "Why do you wear those sunglasses?" He asked suddenly.

I stared at him for a few seconds. Then, I slowly raised my arm, grabbed my glasses lightly, and pulled them off of my face. The brightness of my eyes stood out against the night sky, casting small beams of light.

"You don't like you eyes, because it shows your a brine. You hate that path of you, So you hide them." Ty said, understandingly. I nodded. "You know, I happen to like them. You shouldn't hide your true self. At least, not here." Ty said, beginning to stand. "I've learned that."

I gazed up at him, and as he was about to jump down from the tree, he looked over his shoulder and tried a feeble smile. Then, he practically disappeared into the night, and most likely, to his bed. I stared at the empty space that Ty has just been standing in, trying to understand what he meant by what he just said. Sighing, I climbed down the tree, and walked back to my own bed. It was dark in side, and everyone else except Mitch was asleep.

"Mitch, shouldn't you be asleep?" I asked him.

"Oh, i will be in a minute. I just wanted to let you know that we are traveling to a far district tomorrow, and you need to be up early." Mitch said, sleepiness coating his words. I nodded, and climbed into bed. The cool sheets felt so comforting, and I quickly drifted into a dreamless sleep.
