"GET DOWN! GET DOWN!" I yelled as I heard the gunshots. I threw myself on the ground as people start running to protect themselves. Glass are shattered, chairs are thrown, tables are turned over. It was a chaotic moment.I never gave myself to realize what was happening. My hands were up as if I was defending myself from something. I opened up my eyes to see my dad looking at me, worry sick.
"Sara! Sara!" People were coming up to me asking if I was okay. My vision was blurry and I could hardly hear anything. I let loose of my father's hand who was helping me get up and ran to the bathroom. I locked the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. I started patting myself, trying to remember what I heard and where it came from. I was distracted when my father started knocking on the door.
"Honey, are you alright?" He asked.
Maybe if i ignore him, he'll leave. I stayed quiet. A minute had gone by and the knocking were gone. I sighed in relief, when I heard the knocking again.
"I'm not leaving until you answer the door." He said.
I kept holding onto the counter, looking at my reflection on the mirror. I opened the door. He walked in, closing the door behind us.
"Do you care to explain what just happened?" He asked.
My father is a important person, he's the governor. He was all about perfection and he judged mostly on anything, and I mean anything. He is my father and I love him but he just needs to back off a little and show I'm more important than his job. I knew that was never going happen.
"Yes dad, i'm okay. I, I ju- I ugh." I sighed. "I'm okay." I said as I looked at the floor.
I wasn't looking directly at him, which is something I should do if I wanted to lie. I could notice him staring at me so I tried leaving the bathroom.
"Sara." He said.
I looked at him, while he blocked me way out. I sighed and sat on the toilet. It remained quiet until he spoke again.
"Don't you ever make us look like a fools again. Especially at this very important event of mine." He said.
I got up in disbelief what he just said and left the room. I passed all the guest for the event and straight up to my room.
I layed down on my bed trying to remember what I had seen or heard. I closed my eyes and I started to remember.
A pair of hands. Holding two guns. A sliver and a black gun.I see something be put away. I heard it say "this is for my brother." It's a man. He sounds like a man. He was driving somewhere. I could see the street signs but I couldn't make out where he was driving. He stops. He starts walking towards a building. Gunshots.
I open my eyes quickly. The same gunshots I heard earlier today. Why? Why did I hear those gunshots?
It wasn't a dream because it didn't feel like a dream.
It's like I was there.
I was there.
