Two years later..
Riiing
The bell was ringing which meant it was time for the next class period
"I swear that thing just ringed like 5 minutes ago" Alexia said
"We just got here Lex.." Nathalie replied glancing back at Alexia.
Joey walked towards the two. "Have any of you seen Richards?"
".. Oh, Tara's probably off somewhere with Brad" Nathalie answered and Alexia started puckering her lips together.
"Oh.. And what about Cooper?" Joey smirked towards Nathalie
Nathalie began to blush. "Um..he..I think he's still in practice."
"Isn't it almost your like one month anniversary?" Alexia asked taking a sip from her coffee
"We've been dating for like 5 months Lex."
"What! Really?" Joey asked
"She's joking Jo" Alexia replied. "Your joking right?"
Nathalie rolled her eyes.
Riiinng
"You have 5 minutes to get to your first class" a feminine voice began to speak from the speaker
They started to walking down the hall to their class. The four had almost every class together.
"I have this recurring nightmare of that voice..I'm in a museum and I'm walking around looking at some of the exhibits and then the lights begin to turn off one by one and there's thunder screaming around me then I heard that voice and when I turn around.." Alexia stopped. "I wake up, every single time"
They entered the Potions class and headed to their seats. The tables could only fit two people so the girls would usually pair up for different days.
"Didn't I tell you that once" Joey started. "I had the same dream except I was in a field at night and I was shooting balls into the net when a storm began to form and all the lights suddenly just turned off and I heard that voice.."
"Then when you turned around you woke up?" Tara asked from behind them.
"Yeah.. Where have you been?"
Tara sat down next to Nathalie then turned around to face Joey "Me and Brad got into this fight.."
Alexia and Joey shared looks then glanced back at Tara.
"Doesn't he have morning practice." Joey asked
"Well he does but he blew it off."
"Then where is he now?" Alexia asked
"Are you two gonna be okay?" Nathalie asked. "I mean I care about you Tar but you can't leave me and be single with those two.." She added
"Single and ready to mingle!" Joey said as she high fived Alexia.
"Don't worry Ally, we're not gonna break up and even if we do, I won't stay single for long." Tara smirked
"What this I hear about someone wanting to mingle?" They heard a voice from behind them.
When she turned around Joey's face lit up. It was her best guy friend Chris, who she also happened to a crush on. "You need to stop eavesdropping on conversations weirdo."
"Well what's the fun it that?" He teased
"Okay everyone take your seats." Mrs Montgomery started. "Before we start there is a new student today and I think he will be arriving shortly. He i--" just then a boy walked through the door and everyone kept their glances straight at him.
Usually when there would be a new person, most of the students would try to figure out what kind of clique they would belong in and try to recruit them.
"Oh you must be Ethan" Mrs Montgomery cheered. "Have a seat wherever you'd like" she said followed by an awkward wink.
Mrs Montgomery was one of the best teachers in the academy. She was goofy and always tried to fit in with the students and most of them liked that about her.
Ethan stood at the doorway with a very mysterious glare in his eye. He slowly began strolling across the classroom trying to find a seat. He stopped at an empty table and then took his seat.
"Well looks like we have an odd number of students. Has anyone seen Mr Harrison?"
Just then the door swung open and there was a buff boy walking across the classroom.
"Ah.. Hello Mr Harrison, glad you could join us"
"Sorry, practice ran late today." Brad said as he stopped walking.
Tara rolled her eyes towards his direction, enough to make him see but not to much to draw attention to herself.
"Okay so how about Tara and Brad be partners, you two spend a lot of time together anyway and I trust that you can work well in a partnership."
Tara let out a very awkward sigh. She didn't want to be mad at him but she was.
"And Ms Dawson you will be working with Ethan. You don't mind do you?"
"Uh no, I don't." Nathalie grabbed her bag from her seat and sat next to the new boy.
"Okay, now that everyone has a partner we can begin class. So today you will be making a.."
"A LOVE POTION?!" Someone from the back of the class yelled
"Why is that the first thing that you guess Marlee?.. But actually today we are making something similar to that, a potion that will distract or take concentration from something or someone and if that distraction leads to a love potion than sure. Remember if you want extra credit you can work alone but you have to consult with your partner first and I will arrange the groupings." She said as she looked at Nathalie.
Nathalie did everything possible to get better grades and improve in the magics classes but not so much in the regular classes like math and science. She was already good at that but she was sort of mediocre when it came to magic. So when teachers would say that you could get extra credit for working alone she would usually end up ditching Tara, Joey and Alexia.
"All the materials you need are on the table, you have 45 minutes. Okay, you guys can begin.."
