Lyra awoke to beautiful sunlight filtering through the canopy of leaves that was the roof of her tree home. She rolled out of bed and stretched out her long limbs, relishing in the warmth the sunlight provided. Glancing over to the bedside table she noticed a folded piece of paper addressed to her.
Lyra, there's some food in the storeroom for you. I have a meeting (like always) and I won't be home till late. After you've eaten I want you to help out with the new trainees. Don't disappoint me
-Tyrael

With that, Lyra walked downstairs to the storeroom, grabbed a loaf of rosemary bread, and ate it on the way to the training grounds. It was a short walk but a peaceful one, the enormous trees that made up her forest home towering over the small village where the Blood Clan leader resided, sunlight filtering through their leaves, causing everything to seem as if it was shimmering. Lyra glanced toward the shopping district with all its merchants and traders, their wares spread out on display. Gods this place is beautiful, of only I'd lived here all my life. Maybe then my family woul-

"Look out!!"

"Hmm?"

She snapped out of her trance like state after noticing the arrow flying straight for her. Without hesitation she snatched the arrow out of the air though the momentum knocked her backwards into the side of a shop.

"I'm so sorry miss!" said a youngest boy with mousey brown hair and golden eyes who was running toward her. He was shorter and obviously younger than the elven warrior. When he spoke she noticed that his canines were longer than normal and his elongated ears were shorter and rounder.

"You're incredibly lucky that it was me that arrow was flying toward and not some random civilian because then you'd be a murder," Lyra replied,"Hey, if you don't mind my asking, are you from Nytanhil?"

"Yes, I am. How did you know?"

"Your ears and teeth, only citizens of the eastern village of Blood Clan have those ears," she answered.

"Miss are you from Ifethas? I could tell because your ears are long and thin, a trait of a southern village citizen," he asked.

"Someone did their homework. Yes I'm from Ifethas, but I have been living here, in the central village, for three years. Alright well I've stalled long enough, I should be at the training grounds right now," she laughed. Tyrael is going to kill me

The boy's face lit up. "Miss are you a trainee too?"

"That's for me to know and you to find out." She started toward the training grounds, fully aware of the younger boy trailing after her.
