Chan pouted as he plopped himself onto the slim sheet of fabric spread atop the slightly-wet grass.
With a frown on his face and his head resting on his hands, he released a heavy sigh as the clouds above him masked the sun.
Am I too early? He wondered.
Meanwhile, you were still on your way to the park; crossing the last road that led to it.
You hadn't forgotten what day it was or how important it was, however, due to unforeseen circumstances, you were running late. You hoped that Chan wasn't upset and prayed that he'd understand why this happened.
"Seriously..." you sigh, rolling your eyes as the crowd in front and around you moved – but only barely. With a quick glance to your watch, you continue to mutter to yourself. "I'm already fifteen minutes late..."
Damn, you think, feeling the pit of guilt form at the center of your stomach once again. Fifteen minutes? I hope he's not mad...I feel terrible.
You moved forward with what could be called 'baby steps' as soon as the lights flashed 'WALK'; every second felt like minutes and a minute felt like fourteen more. The crowd around you walked incredibly slowly and eventually, you had to push your way through them, causing several participants of the group scowl at you.
