My heart was thumping, my hands sweating, I was terrified about what was about to happen. She grabbed my hand

"We'll do this together" she reassured me, making me less nervous. We walked in, into our new life, a new place for the next 5 years, our new school

"Names please" a women sat down asked us as we walked into a hall with high ceilings and what seemed like millions of chairs, people talking and laughing around us. She told her our names and we went into the crowd of people

"You ready" she said squeezing my hand

"As long as I have you, I'm ready for anything" I smiled. And that's the way it was, had been for 8 years.

"Year 7s this way please" a tall man said, making us all follow, I grabbed her hand to make sure we didn't get separated. We were put into 4 groups and our group were lead into a small room, there was a girl inside already. She smiled at us and we smiled back

"Hi" she said and the other girl replied. For the rest of the day we all stayed together, didn't leave one another's sides for even a minute
Every day after school she'd come to my house until her mum picked her up. We invited the new girl over and we played and laughed until they both left.

That's how it went every day for the whole year, it was great, everyday we'd meet outside the gates, walk home together and they'd be picked up. We were best friends and it couldn't get any better.

I'm going to keep calling the two girls she/her and the new girl as I don't know what to call them and I feel it's better that way.
