> Liam's POV <

I just watched Lacey sleep peacefully.

It made me miss all those times in middle school and high school when we would have "slumber parties". I smiled at the thought.

Lacey looked so peaceful and calm. I couldn't forget the pain in her light brown eyes when she saw me with Sophia. She probably wondered why I was with her. But to be honest, I didn't know why I was either. Modest didn't force me to. She didn't force me to. Maybe I was tying to forget how bad I felt when I left Lacey. Maybe I was trying to forget her.

But I also wondered. Why the hell did Harry claim she was his girl friend? It scared me how my blood boiled when I thought of that. I'm with Sophia. That shouldn't matter to me.

I watched the door as it creaked open.

I instantly saw the mop of curls and knew it was Harry. "Is she okay?" He asked. I nodded.

"She had a nightmare last night."

He huffed, "I wonder why."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Oblivious," he muttered.

I narrowed my eyes at Harry. "Drop the BS and tell me what's going on."

"What's going on is you don't notice how she flinches when you touch Sophia! You don't notice all the pain in her eyes when she's reminded you're with Sophia!"

This is one of those moments where I was glad Lacey was a really deep sleeper.

"It's none of your business, Harry."

"It is. Because she's my friend too now. And I'm not going to stand around and watch you hurt her." With that he left.

I looked at the sleeping girl lying next me. My hand carefully tucked a loose dirty blonde lock behind her ear.

"Oh Lacey. What have I done?"

> Lacey's POV <

I woke up, without Liam there. I frowned and got my lazy arse out of bed.

I trudged down the stairs and heard chatter in the living room. "What's up?" I sighed walking in.

Liam and Harry were farthest away from each other and you could still feel the tension. It was so thick, I wouldn't be able to cut it with a knife. What was their deal?

"Hi Lacey!" Louis chirped.

"Ello Sassosaurous." He grinned at my nick name for him. "So guess what?" He continued.

"What?" I asked looking at them.

"We get to stay here in LA for a month!" Niall said in a sing song voice.

My eyes widened. "Really?"

"Mhm. Modest said we deserved a break. We'll only have a few gigs here and there."

"Awesome!" I smiled.

I sat down on Harry again. "Why?!" He asked with a chuckle.

"I told you. You're softer than the couch."

"Yup. You're definitely insulting me," he laughed. I giggled in response.

"Guess what else?" Niall asked.

"What?! Stop leaving me in suspense, boy!!!"

He laughed. "We were also invited to attend a party. More formal, but still." Niall shrugged.

"Cool. I'll call up one of my friends to take me dress shopping."

Liam piped up, "Can you bring us?"

"Yeah," Zayn pouted.

"Nope."

"Fine," Liam huffed making me laugh. Maybe he hasn't changed after all.
