MLP: A Fluttercord Tail ~ Story 1

A Bright Day and Dark Shadow.

It was just before Fluttershy was about to take a break from her animals to make herself lunch. She was about to grab a jar of peanut butter, when she stopped to hear her friend's voice calling sweetly from outside. Fluttershy turned in delight to hear Discord's voice, she was worried he wouldn't come around until next Tuesday tea session, after ignoring him the other day. She couldn't find any words to speak most of the day. Fluttershy opened the door enough to peek her head out to find Discord standing at the end of the path, with a satisfying look, and gesture with his arms crossed as all the animals were all already taken care of, all the chores were done, and so on. Discord? Fluttershy said as she popped out of the door in surprise and confusion. W-what, what are you doing? Discord said surprise! As his hands jumped into the air as confetti flew all around. I'm giving you a day off! Have you eaten lunch yet? Fluttershy's surprised look turned to a sweet sincere smile, and closed the door behind her, then turned as she said, not yet, in a soft melody voice, it almost stopped  Discord in utter delight, as he kept going towards her as he looked at her big blue eyes and long lashes and rose cheeks, with her mane framing it all. "Well" I know this place were sweet berries grow at this time of year! Before Fluttershy could speed, they were on a mountain side, where a nice small water fall was running from the melting snow on top of the mountain, and grass surrounding them, with with flowers....but there were no berries. Fluttershy looked around, then asked. Umm where are the berries? Discord snapped his fingers as baskets of various berries appeared around them. "Well", he started. The berries are located in a clearing in the ever-free Forest, and well I didn't want you to worry about running into creatures in there. Discord replied as he scooped up a claw full of Raspberries and offering them to Fluttershy. Fluttershy grinned. Aw thank you, Discord. Your such a considerate friend. She said proudly. She didn't notice Discord's sad look, but he cleared it away quickly. "Well", he said while coughing under his breath. Let's eat. After their lunch they spent the day playing games, such as Simon says, I spy, Discord even popped up a set of crew kay. Later they started Looking at clouds. Fluttershy sighed, in satisfaction. Discord knew the time for them to go would go soon. He took in a silent deep breath, and started. Fluttershy? Fluttershy replied while still looking at the white clouds. Yes? Discord gulped, and replied. Why where you sad yesterday? There was silence for a few moments, but it was broken with Discord turning to his stomach, facing Fluttershy, "look", I went to AJ this morning and she said something happened with your mother, and that,  that was the reason, but she wouldn't tell me! Fluttershy's eyes were closed with a frown. Discord felt ashamed, and sunk his head. I'm sorry, it's obviously non of my business. I just wanted to know to maybe help you, in a way. Discord, Fluttershy said almost immediately. It's no ones fault but my own. Huh? Discord said jerking his head up. Fluttershy sighed with her eyes still closed. My mom was a pony who never wanted foals of her own, she preferred to have fun, and do whatever she wanted. Well she married my father as she thought he was to inherit a fortune, but he was cut off from it, as she was 6 months pregnant with me. Before I was born she was divorced with my father, and gave me to him, and she left. There was more silence. My father was of course heart broken, but I always believed she'd comeback one day. I was almost a teenager, when I found my fathers combination to his safe, hoping to find any clues. I found her picture, and name. Previous Ivy. I was shocked to find I knew her! She was the Jewelry store's owner's wife! I bought a few gifts for my friends there. She was married to him, and. Fluttershy stopped, opened her eyes as tears poured down the sides of her face, and turned to Discord with saddened eyes. She had a daughter and two sons. The sons were still young children, her daughter was three years younger than me. Her daughter was pretty, smart, and praised for being important and such. Fluttershy turned away from Discord. As Discord was speechless. What could he say? And he had just caused Fluttershy more sadness. A flash appeared as Fluttershy was home sitting in her chair as Discord popped in the kitchen and called, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to cause you pain. Fluttershy sniffed, and whipped her face and said its...fine. Moments passed which seemed longer then really, and then Discord appeared with a tray of hot tea, made to Fluttershy's liking. Fluttershy sipped the cup, looking down, as Discord watched with worry. The sun was soon going to set, Discord left with out a word. The sky was beautiful, the clouds glowed, as the birds were chirping in their nests.
