Before the Dead Came Back

Thomas Story Part 1

I was sleeping in the car when I woke up to the movement of are moving truck hitting a road-bump. I looked out the window just in time to see the "Welcome to Texas" sign. I looked over to see my little sister, Sara, sleeping next to me.
"Mom why did we have to move?" I sighed
"We've been over this Thomas your father got a new job offer that'll help us all out finically."
She said while focusing on the road.
"I don't understand why you couldn't wait till I got out of school. I only have a year left."
"Thomas please just stop complaining and be happy for your father."
I sighed while moving to my side and laying on my pillow while watching all the cars pass our beat up Mini Van that we've had for 8 years.
I fell asleep for the third time and woke up to my mom opening the van door.
"Come on Thomas, Sara! We're finally Home!"
I rubbed my eyes and noticed the stars were still shining.
"What time is it?"
"3:45." She said while grabbing our suitcases
"Uhhhhh come on Sara." I said while picking her up.
She clinged to me like a sloth on a tree branch.
I heard her mumble a few things.
Nothing I could understand though.
I got out of the car to come face to face with our brand new house.
It was a three bedroom, two bathrooms and a two story house.
I opened the door to be greeted by that new house smell that'll be gone as soon as you light a candle.
I Walked upstairs to see a pink room that had my dad in it fixing up Sara's bed. I gently put her down while my dad greeted me by patting my back.
"How was the drive?" He asked
"Long."
He laughed
"Go check out your room it's right next door I already finished your bed."
I walked out of the room and into mine.
The walls were a sailor type blue that had baseballs lining the top of the walls.
"Great" I sighed while crawling into my new bed and drifting off.
Tomorrow is my first day at a brand new school and from what I heard its huge. I guess everything is bigger in Texas.
