"Run!" a voice hissed in my mind. Following this sudden thought, i ran. My feet made no sound as i ran through the forest silent as a shadow.
I heard my followers heavy footfalls behind me, always there, never falling behind yet never gaining on me. I pumped my arms and ran faster and harder, adrenaline pumping through my veins.
The forest on either side of me blurred to a green streak, low-lying branches snagged my already torn and muddy clothes.Vines over-head only made to slow me down, pushing ever closer to the Tracker.
The Tracker seemed to be a permanent fixture in my life since i was on the run...so a while...
If you were wondering a Tracker is just as their name states but (yes there's a but) they aren't human. Actually no one knows what they are or if some one found out, they never lived to tell the tale (eerie i know). As a matter of fact that may be a reason he was extra mad at me, giving him an extra need for vengeance but hey its what i lived for...sometimes...
A light appeared up ahead. At the end of the pathway I was currently slipping on and off, there was a golden light like a beacon, drawing me closer and closer. My mind told me not to but somehow my body refused to respond. It was unnerving, like i knew it was all wrong but my body didn't want to believe what the mind told it and for that, I pumped my arms harder, my breathing barely affected.
My excitement and strange need for a thrill of something...anything drew me nearer to that doorway of light, out of the dark forest.
Finally breaking out of the trees i didn't stop but in the few seconds before my heart skipped a bean and my stomach dropped to my knees, my eyes assessed the situation in the speed of light.
A cliff. The ledge. The unknown was all that lay below...along with the roaring sea..(always wanted to say the unknown..that's all). The waves crashed against the sharp rocks jutting out of the water like fangs.
The smell of the ocean, the thought of some kind of freedom, the thrill of it all was intoxicating.
The seconds ticked by as i ran toward the edge with no where else to go. It was either face that Tracker who wanted nothing but the last breath to leave my body or face the cliff. Although I could just scream bloody murder and make a run for it...but then again, luck has never been on my side...
There was no other option than what I chose because if there were, I would have known and acknowledged it before I ended here.
I took a funal deep breath, turned to face the Traker and stare him in his cold, unfogiving eyes before i let myself fall, wondering if some how the wind won't be the lame excuse for breaking a fall. Plummeting into oblivion, i closed my eyes and just was...
