CHAPTER 6

Josh held my hand all the way to his car, where he opened the passenger door and closed it once I got in. I couldnt believe it, I was in Josh Duns car. He was right

next to me. He was just holding my hand. My inner fangirl wanted to start bouncing up and down and start screraming, but I knew that wouldn't be appropriate.

he got in the drivers side and got on his phone for a while.

"What city are we in darlin'?" Josh asked, scrolling through some resturant ideas on his phone.

"Houston." I replied shakily " But I dont have my wallet and I dont think you'll have time to eat and drop me off AND come back to the venue before you have to leave."

"I'll pay for you. Believe me, Tyler won't let them leave without me. Don't even try to deny me paying for you by the way, You have no choice."

I shook my head and smiled politly while I turned up the radio because I didnt wanna have to keep a conversation going as I'm not too good at that.

"Umm.. where are we going?" I asked as I seen him turn off the wrong road"

"The only place around here is Applebees so it'll have to do."

We pulled up to the resturant as soon as Circles by Pierce The Veil came on. I was dissapointed but my nervousness soon took over that feeling realising that I'd have

to keep a conversation going during this whole time. So many things were going on in my head 'What if you say something stupid? He wont like you anymore.' 'He's gonna

think you're fat because you're gonna eat.'

"KAYCEE!" I awoke from my little daze with Josh standing outside of the passenger door shaking me "Huh?" I asked, confused "Are you okay? You kinda just.. went off

there." I shook my head as I unbuckled my seatbelt and took his hand while we walked into applebbes.

We took our seats and I pretended to look at the menu even though I already knew what I wanted to order. A pepsi and a fiesta lime chicken. The waiter came around

to get our drink orders and I felt the blood rush out of my face. It was my ex, Adam. I hated him with a burning passion. He was a complete and total asshat. I pretended

not to notice it was him and asked for a pepsi with my head still buried in my menu.

"Okay one pepsi for the rat, and for Mr.red eyes over here?"

"Hey, whats with the attitude?" Josh asked putting one of his hands over mine over the table.

"Okay. Ill assume a pepsi too." Adam said and walked off.

"Did you know him?" Josh asked putting his hand under my chin to lift up my head so my eyes met his.

"yeah." I said looking back down and twittling my thumbs "He was abusive so I left. He hated me ever since."

"Look at me. I love your eyes." Josh said lifting my head back up in the same passion as before. "He didnt deserve someone as Beautiful,amazing and as kind as you."

I blushed as a blonde waitress came and gave us our pepsi's. The rest of dinner was amazing. Getting complimented and spending time with someone I look up to.
