Chapter 3 Part 7: Despair Shows No Mercy. . .

Panting as you sprint from the black despair that's devouring the peaceful island you are on. You know it's another weird dream, that was the most logical explanation for waking up in another strange environment. It seems like this is going to become a regular thing, strange dreams. You find yourself in front of a resort, a pool in front of it and a smallish wood building to it's right. It's not overly large and there aren't too many cabins. Without a second thought you hide in the lobby of this resort, slamming the door behind you. 'What now... What weird things has my own mind got in store for me this time?' 

"N/N?" This voice seems familiar, in fact, it registers straight away.

"Byakuya?!" You stand up and look around the room, sure enough a person with similar looks to Togami stood in front of you. Although... Something was verrry strange. This Byakuya had a very big figure, wore white and his voice was a little higher and more gentle than the Byakuya you think you know.

"Calm down N/N! Why are you running? I was having a midnight snack and I heard the door slam! Why are you up so late?" He doesn't lecture you as he would if you were in Hope's Peak. Your time there is up and the chubby Byakuya fades into thin air, still wearing a confused expression as he does so. 'I'm not sitting through this hell again... Wake up N/N! WAKE UP!'  You try the obvious and slap yourself, you were expecting it to be painless and wake you up. It did one of those things. Your eyes widen in pain and you jolt upright, your cheek stinging in pain. A red mark, the size of your hand, was all too visible. 'Nope! Nope!  I can't turn insane now... It's not that bad, it doesn't hurt, I'm ok!'  You repeat similar phrases over and over. Most likely due to the placebo effect, the pain calms and the mark fades into a light pink. You breathe in and out to calm yourself. After a few minutes, you put on a casual outfit and slip on Mondo's coat for warmth. You need to find out the time. Stealthily, you slide out the door and look around, the hall is empty. You have two choices: Call for Monokuma to tell you the time or, knock on someone's door. The first option didn't appeal to you but this way you wouldn't risk waking anyone up. 

"Monokuma... Monokuma!" You whisper-shout the dreadful name and a few seconds later;

"Heeeello N/N! Did you have a nice sleep iiin?~" Monokuma does a twirl and nudges your arm with his own.

"Sleep in?..." 'Oh shoot! Did I really sleep in? Kiyondo's going to be so mad at me! Not to mention the others are probably worried!'  "What time is it and where is everyone?!" You act as calmly as possible, hiding your panic.

"11am and on the third floor! Oh, you never dare to go up there do you?... Too bad!" Monokuma teases you then makes a sudden disappearance.

"H-Hey!... Oh nevermind..." There's a reason you never went to the other floors. You didn't want to look at the new land you've 'earned' by successfully solving the murder of one friend and sending another to their doom. You have no choice. Making sure you aren't hungry and that all other triggers are in place, you find yourself in front of the stairs. After forcing yourself to the third floor, it seems silent and empty. 'Was Monokuma lying just so I would come up here?...'  The very thought made your blood boil in rage for the monochrome coloured bear. (His name literally means Black and White Bear!) Taking a few twists and turns, exploring the third floor, you come across a room that for some reason catches your eye. "Physics lab, huh?" You push open the doors, revealing a ginormous air purifier and other papers scattered across the floor and desks. 

"Hey N/N wait!" A male voice breaks your focus and a hand lands on your shoulder. A worried Makoto stands there. "N/N where were you?! We thought you were... That you were..." You can tell that he's holding back tears of relief. The skinny Byakuya Togami that you know also enters, a small smile reveals itself when he spots you. The smile turns into a small frown when Makoto tackles you with a warm hug.
