Chapter 2

Zac's POV

Thank God this week is fu- I mean frickin' over. Gosh, Brooke, what am I going to do about her, I still have a whole weekend to spend with her. I stumbled over to Brooke's Prius that she got last year in June after almost being tripped at least five time. I hate it when Brooke's right I thought with a scowl.

"Whatcha scowling at?" a voice said out of nowhere.

"Nothing," I said sending Brooke a playful scowl.

"Well, come on we gotta go to the mall before it closes."

"It's only three o' clock,"

"Yea, we''l being spending a lot of time getting you new clothes,"

"Why? My clothes are fine,"

"Yea, fine for a grandpa," She scoffed, " Well, come on we gotta go,"

I rolled my eyes as I climbed into the passenger seat of her car. As soon as she put the key in the ignition Love Song by Sara Bareilles. After a few seconds, Brooke started to sing along, and I chuckled.

"Why are you laughing? Am I that bad?" Brooke said with a tinge of insecurity in her voice.

"No, you're really good," I said sincerely.

"Then why are you laughing," She pouted.

"Cause, I thought of something funny," I started, but as soon as she started to speak I cut her off, "Look we're here,"

I sat there in silence as she pulled into a parking spot and took the key out.

"Zac! Get your butt outta that seat right now!" Brooke screamed. I just sat in her car and laughed. As I was about the get out an old man walked up to Brooke and started to lecture her.

"Ahh, I remember when I was your age and my girlfriend always dragged me to the mall to carry her bags," He laughed, "If he's as stubborn as that, you should just go without him,"

"B-but he's not my boyfriend," Brooke complained

"There's no point in denying it," The man laughed again and patted her shoulder before retreating to his own car.

I slowly climbed out of the car and started laughing.

"It's not funny!" Brooke cried as she started slapping my arm.

"Yes, it is," I chuckled.

"Whatever, come on," She said dragging me into the mall.

                                             ---------------------------------------------------

Brooke's POV

"Come on we need to get you jeans," I said dragging Zac into Levi's.

"Ugh," He replied.

"Shut up it's only the first store," I cried.

"Ok you pick anything you like or I'll pick for you," I said with a mischievous glint in my eyes as I watched him run off to find something.

After about 30 minutes, well actually 45 minutes we spent 15 minutes arguing about who will pay, I finally bought Zac ten pairs of jeans. I happily skipped to the Nike store while Zac followed slowly behind. After going to other stores and buying other things, I decided that's just about all we need.

"Ok, we can go now," I exclaimed grabbing the bags from the ground.

"Umm, where are we going?" Zac asked.

"Your house, we need to get rid of your ugly clothes," I smiled.

"Well, that's nice," He replied.

                                                     -----------------------------------------

"Hi, Mrs. Smith," I called as we walked into the house.

"Hi, Mom," Zac said.

"Hi guys, and Brooke, I told you to call me Cheryl. Mrs. Smith makes me feel old," She laughed, "Oh by the way dinner will be ready in a hour or two. Will you be able to stay, Brooke?"

"Yea, maybe," I smiled as I started to walk up the stairs towards Zac's room with most of the bags in my hands. Once I reached him room I opened the door and gaped at what I saw. Zac was standing there putting on his shirt. Once he saw me he started to blush.

"Um, d-did you see?" He stuttered.

"See what?" I asked innocently.

"Um, my ch-chest?"

"Of course I did," I smiled looking at his horrified expression, "When'd you get a six pack?"

"Uh, during the summer," He said still blushing.

I rolled my eyes, I already knew he had a six pack, it's just that no one else knows since he always wears baggy sweatshirts. I walked over to his closet and grabbed most of his clothes and dumped it onto his bed.

"Ok pick the ones you like and were donating the rest," I explained as I started to pick through the pile.

                                                           ------------------------------------------

I threw the last of his old Christmas sweaters into the donation box, while Zac looked at what was left.

"Umm, Brooke there's nothing left," He said, "And you said I could keep what I like,"

"Yea, you're keeping the stuff you got from your grandma in the back of your closet," I replied as he rolled his eyes.

Ding! I picked up my phone and realized it was a text from my dad.

 Be home before 7

ok I texted back.

"Hey, I gotta go. But tomorrow I'll teach you how to act and dress. So, bye," I told him as I walked out of the room.
