chapter two; celestial glow
jimin's povI check the clock before opening my window, 1:31 am. The stars would be shining tonight. They're waiting for me to leave my confined room, to breath in the fresh outside air.
The new opening is now large enough for me to duck through. I place a light step on the other side to the roofing before shifting my weight onto that leg. This action now feels like nothing after the countless times I've visited the night sky at who knows what time. Even the beige tiles are worn out from my repetitive pattern of footing.
Nobody cares about my nightly adventures, my parents and brother. They never pay attention to why my bed is empty, why the window is open, why there's a slight breeze coming from my bedroom.
My mother even walks past the door when she can't go back to sleep, and yet she never asks me what I'm doing.
Nobody cares to join me either, I think as I begin my climb to the top of our house, avoiding any steeper areas and slipping.
These times are only my own, a time where I can enjoy the friendly greeting of these faraway burning balls of deadly gas. Some may have already past, exploded millions of years ago but their bright light is still projecting past the Earth and into my dark brown eyes.
Our roof is unique in a way. The top doesn't end in slants, instead there is a flat area for who knows what. It may be architecturally flawed, but it favors me in the end. I've brought pillows and blankets in the past for future occasions—hoping for little rain instead of storms—such as this so that I could lay on my back and stare up at the sky. The twisting and changing of colors from atmosphere to cloud. The only thing that separates us from being just another lifeless planet.
I stare up to the stars and watch as they twinkle against the black screen that is held by the strong force of gravity. As I gaze, I can point out multiple constellations I studied online although some are barely visible. Hydra, the sea serpent. Leo, the lion. And of course, the most famous one out there, the Ursa Major, the Big Dipper.
My face, glazed in celestial glow, grows with a toothy grin. This feeling of relaxation is one of the few reasons to why I love the outdoors so much. Plus the fact that our own star, the Sun, would one day enlargen itself to the point of melting away all attributes that support life on Earth, bringing chaos, destruction, and death really gives you the kick to enjoy everything to its fullest.
We would probably destroy ourselves first though, to be quite honest.
yo this chap was so trashy and short but i wanna be more descriptive with my writing. this is just a little intro to jimin ok sh (very little but im sorry since this used to be the prologue..)
