A Job

"What are you doing, noona?" Dino asks me, standing in my doorway. I am sitting at my vanity doing my hair.

"I'm doing my hair, Dino," I say.

"Why?"

"I got a job," I say standing up.

"Really? Doing what?"

"Taking care of kids like you," I say teasingly. As I walk past him I kiss his cheek. I walk to the kitchen where the girls are waiting.

"You guys ready?" I ask them. The nod. "Come on. We gotta go if we want to catch the bus." They look confused.

"You don't have a car?" They ask me.

"No. There is no need to. You can either walk or take a bus just about anywhere in the city. I thought you guys would rather take a bus then walk. Let's go." I start to head out the door when I remember something.

"Hey, Dino?" He looks up from his phone. "Tell Ji I'm at work when he wakes up, OK?" He nods. Me and the girls walk out the front door and onto the bus. I pay for them and we take a seat in the back. When we pull up, we hop off the bus.

"Hello Soo Youn!" I say. "Hey Minah!" This place is owned by Minah's mother. "These are my friends from America. They have come to help me today." I work at a daycare sometimes. This place is really nice and you aren't required to work certain days. You just come in when you want to work and you get payed that day. Me and the girls hang up our jackets and wash our hands. We head to the back and start to play with the kids. The kids are fascinated by my pink hair. I giggle.

"Excuse me, miss? Can I play with your hair?" A little girl asks tugging on my sleeve. I giggle.

"Of course you can little miss." I sit down and she starts to play with my hair. Juliet comes up and asks if she wants Juliet to teach her how to braid. Juliet demonstrates with a strand of my hair. She is a quick learner and I find out her name is Lilly. Together Lilly and Juliet give me two pigtails. I stand up and thank her. I hear the door open and a man talking. I hear laughter and then the door to our room opens. I turn around to see Jihoon standing there with Dino.

"I came to drop off this little boy," Jihoon says. I giggle. Dino's face turns red.

"We actually came to help," Dino says glaring at Jihoon. I laugh.

"Well just play with the kids," I say. The little girl asks if she can play with my hair again.

"Of course, Lilly." I sit down again and she takes out my braids and starts to braid them again. Jihoon sits down next to Lilly.

"Can you show me how to do that?" Jihoon asks her. She nods and starts to demonstrate while explaining like Juliet did. I laugh when I feel Jihoon struggling to keep up. I look up just in-time to see a short little boy attack a much taller boy with a toy guitar. I start to laugh. I tap Ji's hand and point towards the little boy. He starts to laugh. They tie off my braids and I walkover to the little boy. I recognize him from a little boy I was with last time I was here. His name is Kwan.

"Kwan? Whats wrong?" I ask him.

"He called me short," He says. I laugh.

"You know what Kwan? I did the same thing when a friend of mine," I say glaring at Ji, " called me short. But its good to be short. No one thinks you are dangerous until its to late. But, do me a favor. Can you not hit him here? I really don't want to get fired." I ask him. He giggles and nods. I look at the time. Its 3:00.

"Alrighty kids! Nap time!" Jihoon starts to cheer. "Not you," I say pointing at him. He pouts and the little kids laugh. They start to pull out mats and claim spots on the ground. After a few minutes they go to sleep. The girls and Dino go see if any of the other rooms need any help leaving me and Jihoon in our room. After about half an hour of talking the parents start to come pick up the kids. We wake up the kids and take them to the back.  Eventually all the kids are gone and we go home after getting payed.
