Harry and Hermione starred at the ruble that was once Hogwarts.
"It's gone," Hermione said. Harry nodded.
"It's okay, they'll just rebuild it, right?" Harry replied. Hermione sighed. "I guess so."
She looked at Harry and grabbed his hand. "We did it. You did it. He's gone. We're safe."
Harry looked away from her. "But at such a high cost?"
"Harry, they all died for what they believed in. I think that's all they ever wanted. To die to make our future great. Don't put yourself down."
"A house, in the country, somewhere you can see the stars," Harry whispered.
Hermione leaned in closer. "Pardon?"
"That's where I want to live," he said.
Hermione smiled at him. "I'm sure we can arrange that."
"With you," he added. "You mean so much to me, I don't want to be alone."
Hermione positivity beamed, motioning her head towards the broken castle. "Where else do I have to go?"
He smiled back, gripping her hand tightly. "Oh yeah," he said, taking the elder wand out of his pocket.
Just before he looked like he was going to snap it, Hermione grabbed his hand. "WAIT!" She screeched. "Your wand!"
"Ahhhh!" He said, pulling out the two fragments. "Repario," he said, and the wand mending together like new.
He then proceeded to snap the elder wand in half and throw it away.
"That was the right thing to do," Hermione said.
He nodded, "I know."
"Shall we get back to the castle?" Hermione asked.
Harry shook his head. "No, I want to stay here, with you, just a moment longer."
