Prompt: "Well, if you'd woken up properly the first time I kicked you, I wouldn't have had to do it four more times."

--

You awoke abruptly to a loud crash in the lower level of your house. Looking to your left, you saw that your husband, Andy, hadn't woken yet. So you kicked him. He grunted and rolled over; he wasn't quite awake yet. You ended up having to kick him four more times, before he finally woke up.

"Did you just kick me four times?" He asked in a somewhat dazed voice.

"Well, if you'd woken up properly the first time I kicked you, I wouldn't have had to do it four more times." You replied, and you were now wide awake.

"Why did you want me up in the first place? Can't it wait until morning?"

"I heard a crash in the kitchen, and I want moral support to check it out." You started to get up and so did he. Grabbing an object in case the noise attacked, you went with your husband down the stairs. You rounded the corner at the landing. Your cat had knocked one of the lamps off of an end table.

"All of that build up for nothing." Andy sighed, turning and grabbing your hand to go back upstairs.

"Yeah, I guess I'm sorry for that. But I wouldn't have had to wake you if you weren't such a deep sleeper." You half-heartedly apologised, following him to your warm bed. When you were finally back, you and Andy practically fell back into bed. He positioned his arms around your waist and pulled you into his chest, sighing contentedly.
