“I want to show you something,” Connor whispered in my ears.
We were still sitting beside each other playing funny music on the piano. We were gazing toward the bright afternoon of Orlando City. Of all the years I’ve been with Howard, we’ve never been so calm like this. Being with Howard was like being in a jungle; despite the adventures you have, you’ll always seek for survival. But with Connor, it’s different, it’s like you have all the time in the world—like nothing matters but the present, that you’re here with him. It’s just so peaceful being with him.
“Okay,” I said, nodding.
We walked to the garage, hand in hand. I had offered to use the Corvette. I took the keys from the key holder and tossed it to Connor, who had grabbed it in midair and swinging it in his forefinger coolly. I clapped my hands in delight. “Impressive,” I said.
“I was born to impress you,” he said, throwing me a wink.
“Oh, shut up! Let’s go,” I said. I swung myself on the passenger seat, buckled my seatbelt and turned to look at Connor. He had worn Howard’s black pants and white shirt. It looked classier on Howard though Connor wore it like no man can ever wear a plain white shirt and plain black jeans. Sometimes I wonder if he’s actually a person. I’ve never seen a human being so imperfect that his imperfectness becomes his perfection. I’ve never seen such person. And it amazes me.
There’s something about him that makes you doubt if sunshine is the most beautiful thing you saw. He’s just chocolate and vanilla all together. He makes me happy. He even reminds me of life yet when with him I am in heaven. It’s like every girls dream. However, some dreams come true yet most just stay a dream and you wake up.
“Should I be worrying about that?” he said without taking his eyes of his road.
I blinked. “What?”
“I mean,” he said. “You’ve been staring at me for like an hour now. I like it but are you alright?”
“Ha,” I said. “I’ll let you know that I’m perfectly fine.”
“Of course, you are. You’re looking at me, silly.”
I punched his left arms which made him laugh a little him. “Ouch, that hurt!”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Well, not really. I just wanted to see your reaction. Thanks for being so concerned,” he said sarcastically.
“Yeah, cause you’re so bloody weak, aren’t you, hon?” I said with that western girls use.
He raised a brow. “Well, I think you should always use that cowboy accent. It makes you hotter.”
“Hotter? Am I not hot enough for you?”
“No, you’re like a boiling Sun.” He looked at me with illuminating blue eyes and threw me a smirk. “We’re here.”
In front of me stood the Phantom City Studio, a tall building made of glass. Connor led me to the elevator, pressing the number 9 as the door closes behind him. As the elevator reached the 9th floor, Connor got out first, walking in front of me. He came to a stop in front of a huge white door. He grabbed the keys from his pocket and opened the door.
