(Okay so this is a poem I had to write for school and I was too lazy to write a new one for the update so here it is!😂)
They try to hush it up,
a finger to your mouth means knife to your heart.
They all scream at you to be yourself
then they yell at your face begging you to change.
Feeling like you don't belong,
fitting in has never worked too long. That's why we have imagination,
to escape reality for a while
and live in our dreams.A dragon's fiery breath consuming the air
as a princess draped in pink screams for her prince.
the knights fall like dominoes trying
to fight off the beast when they are unaware
that they are really fighting themselves.
Red, roaring and reckless,
the fire only grows.
The only thing that goes unheard
is the queen's screams
which are silenced.
Scream of hers trapped inside her throat forever–
and tears overflowing in her eyes
but not ever dropping,
she can't let anything else fall.
Little girls holding onto their dolls
stronger than their own lives.
Then there lies the daydreamer humming to herself
oblivious to the destruction physically surrounding her,
because mentally she's untroubled.
The young boy who dreamed of being a hero
fights with every lost dream of his
thinking he's something special,
a practical comic book hero.
Only to hit the ground lightly,
yet it was the hardest he's ever fallen.Unbelievable, underlooked, and untold
went the lives of the fighters.
All these lives that went so soon,
you almost forgot they were fake.
Just in your head but they felt all too real.
These thoughts only come when you sit in silence,
but when the earth keeps spinning,
and life rushes past you
all those who fought the dragon
are nothing.
Just a part...of your imagination.

PoetryJust some poems I wrote in a few minutes. They are still good and meaningful though. I plan to use them in my book "The Bets." I'll try to add poems here daily!
