*JungKook's POV*
"JungKook ah! Let's go!" Eomma shouted."Arasseo" I replied, taking my phone with me.
She passed me a bag, "Hold this for me, I've made fish porridge for your halmeoni."
She locked the door to the house before we took a taxi to the hospital.
Halmeoni was admitted to the hospital about three weeks ago and Eomma has been visiting her alone but since I was suspended from school, Eomma got me to go along with her.
The smell of antiseptic filled my nose as we walked into the hospital.
We got into the elevator along with some other Nurses.
"Your Halmeoni doesn't know you got suspended from school, don't you dare tell her that you did, God knows how she'll react to it" Eomma repeated for the nth time.
I didn't think there was such a big deal with being suspended. I got to visit halmeoni at the very least.
"But Eomma, it's a Sunday" I said blankly.
She hit her forehead, "Ah... I forgot"
The elevator dinged, signalling us that it was our floor.
Eomma walked infront of me while I trailed behind her.
She stopped in her tracks suddenly, causing to bump into her back.
"Eomma..."
"Aigoo, I'm sorry. JungKook ah, can you buy some fruits for your halmeoni, I forgot to buy some this morning." She reached into her purse to retrieve some notes.
I took it from her, "Is there anything else?"
"Use the change to buy some drinks if you like" She said before taking the fish porridge from my hand.
I turned and went to one of the stores that sold flowers and fruit baskets.
I chose one of the cheaper ones before picking out a sunflower for Halmeoni, she loves sunflowers.
"That'll be 10,700 won" The cashier told me.
I paid with the notes before taking the basket and flower to the ward.
I walked to the ward without looking at where I was going when a nurse bumped into my right shoulder and dropped her files.
"I'm sorry" I said as I bent down to pick up her files.
One in particular caught my eye,
Brain Cancer, Positive
Patient: Kim Yer-
Before I could finish reading, the nurse took the files from my hands, "Sorry about that"
I bowed my head as she walked away.
The words on the paper stayed in my head.
Kim Yer- Could it be... No, she's healthy and young, that's impossible
I shook my head to clear my thoughts one last time before opening the door to the ward.
"Halmeoni, I'm here" I said to the warm old lady who was eating spoonfuls of porridge.
"Aigoo, my grandson is here, come here sweetie" She cooed and opened her arms widely.
I placed down the basket of fruits and hugged her.
"Halmeoni, guess what I bought you?" I grinned cheekily.
"Your child?" She joked.
"Eomeoni! He's only in high school!" Eomma shouted.
The older lady merely laughed, "Relax, I was joking"
I shook my head slightly, "That wouldn't be anytime soon" I chuckled and brought the sunflower I was holding behind my back the whole time to her.
"Aigoo, it's so pretty, thank you" She smiled happily to the bright yellow flower.
"Eomeoni, the other day..." I zoned out as Eomma and Halmeoni started their own conversation.
The report I saw earlier kept showing in my head.
Brain Cancer, Positive.
Patient: Kim Yer-
Please tell me it's someone else, Kim Yeram or Kim Yerin.
It has to be someone else. It can't be her.
