~Autumn's P.O.V.~
I poked at the soggy fruit loops in my bowl, postponing my joy-filled day at school as long as possible. I felt like crap, and so did Sommer and Xander. I was planning on asking my father if we could stay home today, that is, if he's in a good mood. If not, first I'll feed him Arby's, since the claim that it is 'good mood food', and then I'll ask. It sounds like a good plan.
"Good morning chil-" My dad's eyes widened as he saw what a mess we all were. "It looks like you were all run over by a semi!"
"Gee, thanks, daddy," I mumbled.
There was an awkard silence in which we just sat there and stared at each other. He knew what I was going to ask already. I flashed a look at Sommer, and then we were both looking at him with the puppy faces.
"Oh, you aren't getting off that easy. It's only your second day of school. And, Autumn, you have dance tonight," He said.
Woah! The face failed? It must have something to do with the fact that my face is all bruised. If only he knew the real cause...
Sommer looked confused. "Seriously? She got mu-"
"Muddy and wet, yeah he knows. He saw her after her epic fail in the rain last night!" Xander shut her up with a hard glare.
"I gotta go get dressed, Sommer, you want to pick out the outfit?" I asked quickly, wanting to get her away from my dad.
I pulled her out of her chair, leaving Xander to stuff his face to aviod further question and my father looking confused as heck. Poor guy.
When we were in my room, I slapped Sommer on the arm. "How dumb are you? Do you really think I would tell my dad that I got attacked? He'd never let me out of the house again!"
"Oh, yeah. Good point."
I rolled my eyes and tossed on my favorite navy blue silk top and jean shorts, not bothering with my hair. We ran downstairs, grabbed Xander, got the heck out of there. Kincaid pulled up five minutes late.
"I can't wait until you get your liscence, Xander," Sommer said. Xander was turning 16 this year, due to his being held back in fourth grade. It was because he missed half the year when he got three consecutive illnesses- pnemonia, mono, then pnemonia again. Therefore, he missed everything he needed to know for the ISTEP, so he failed.
"Why, so I can drive you two around like a chauffer? I don't think so," He protested, crossing his arms over his chest to look tough.
"Mm-hmm. I'm sure that will hold up."
"It will!"
Me and Sommer exchanged looks and got in her sister's car. "What was that about?" Xander asked as he followed us. We laughed at him, making him even more mad. "What the heck?"
Oh how we love Xander.
