Prologue

When I was a little kid, I had a gold fish named Rocco. My parents gave it to me as a Christmas gift. I wanted a puppy but they said that i probably wouldn't be able to take care of it, and so they got me a gold fish. I was upset cause i didn't get to have a dog, all the same, I absolutely loved Rocco.

You see, the problem with having a gold fish is that there is an obvious limit as to what you could do with them. You can't pet them. When you talk to them, all they do is swim around and probably completely ignore you.

All I could do was feed Rocco.

I thought that by always feeding him he would be happy. Well maybe they do get happy but apparently, too much feeding is gonna kill them. Of course little me did not know that and so I fed him and fed him until he fell asleep.

I thought he was happy and decided to get a good night sleep. Little did I know that he would never come back when mom flushed him down the "hospital" in the toilet.

Well there goes Rocco.

Two years later, my parents finally, finally got me a dog.

He is a pug and is absolutely adorable but a pain in the ass. I named him Aspen cause my father always watched the channel ESPN and I thought the name 'espn' would be cool but i didn't want to name him espn cause of its weird spelling. Don't ask me how that's weird now, ask 11 year old me. And so i decided to go with Aspen.

Aspen has always been there for me. He always cheers me up and i love playing with him and doing things with him. He is my rock and best buddy. If something bad happens to him like getting sick or worse, dying, i would cry my heart out! He may be an annoying little pug sometimes but hey, what dog isn't a little annoying. Actually he has embarrassed me way to many times but who could stay mad at such a cute face?

Fast forward 5 years later and I'm glaring at him right now.

Today he's been nagging me to go outside. How you ask? Well the little devil has been running in circles around me since i woke up. He has his blue leash hanging in his mouth as he barked and stared at me. I didn't want to go outside cause I'm lazy. Pathetic excuse, i know. Well too bad I have to take him anyway or else he would continue nagging me.

When i took him to the park nearby, i didn't think much of it. As said I was a lazy ass and so i sat on the bench and let him go. He quickly took of running to wherever the other dogs are. I don't know. Don't really care as long as he comes back.

I was scrolling through my phone when he decided to come back. At first it was a random dog who decided my feet was a comfortable spot to snuggle in but i realized it was a pug and well, it was Aspen.

"Hey Pup, let's go now", I said to him as i attached the leash to his collar.

I continued to walk him home. On the way home, he kept trying to go back to the direction of the park.

Weird.

"Did you found a cute girl or something? You keep pulling me! Let's go"

As i entered my humble abode, i quickly crash in the couch and closed my eyes. Aspen's continuous need to go back to the park took a lot of effort, okay! Don't judge. Speaking of, that little devil took of somewhere, probably to his water bowl. That's usually what he does after running around outside.

But then I heard a loud bark and opened my eyes to see that Aspen is staring at me.

"What is your problem?! You've been really really weird"

I know, I'm calling a dog weird for barking and running while here i am talking to one.

As I asked him i notice a something pink in his collar. Wait a minute...Aspen's collar is blue with silver patterns! Why the hell is that collar blue with small pink stripes.

Oh God..

"OH MY. HELL NO! Aspen where are you?!"

I just realized that this pug was not Aspen. This pug has different actions than Aspen and has a different collar! At the thought of that i went down to check this pugs collar and found a tag.

Lily

Well, there goes Aspen.
