Chapter 2

Kurt's POV
~
With that officer's help-- what was his name again? Ben? Blake? BLAINE! Right. Well with Blaine's help, I got to the hospital in under ten minutes.
I quickly ran to the front desk almost running into 3 different people.
"Excuse me ma'am, I'm here for Burt Hummel." I said to the receptionist. Lucky me, she ignored me as she was chatting on the phone. I tried to get her attention 7 more times before Officer Anderson came in and told her to do her damn job and help me find my dad.

"Room 202" she spat back at us.
I darted towards elevator and quickly hopped on.
Once I reached the second floor Dr. Hudson was waiting for me.
"Oh Kurt, you're finally here." She said with a sad smile.
"Dr. Hudson, how is he doing?" I pleaded.
"Kurt, honey, it's so much worse than last time. He's not responding as well as he was in February. I'm afraid he might not make it this time..."
"No no no no no no no! This can NOT BE HAPPENING!" I screamed.
"Kurt, he is in a coma and we're doing the best that we can, but he's just not responding well. But, we will keep him for a week or two to see if he improves, he hasn't been here for very long." She said.
"Can I go see him?" I asked.
"Not at the moment, he's currently getting blood work done.. How about you go home get some clothes, because I know you're not leaving anytime soon, and by the time you get back you'll even have a cot in here to sleep on tonight." Dr. Hudson said.
"Dr. Hudson, thank you so much." I said giving her a hug.
"Kurt, what did I tell you! Call me Carole." She said in a stern tone.
"Carole.. Right"
I slowly walked toward the elevator and waited what felt like years for the doors to open up to the lobby.
I really didn't want to go home and get clothes, but if I don't go then I'll be sleeping in the same clothes for the next week. I should probably shower too. I hate hospital showers. Well, hospitals in general. They always remind me of when my mom--
"Kurt! Wait up!" I heard a familiar voice call out.
I quickly spun around to see Blaine jogging towards me.
"What are you still doing here? Don't you have a job?" I didn't realize how rude that sounded until after I said it, but I didn't even care at this point..
"Well, I actually called off for the rest of the day. Told them it was a family emergency. I didn't know how long you'd be. How's your dad?" He looked so sweet as he said this.
"Why do you care? You don't even know him. Or me. You don't know anything about us!" I spat.
"Woah. You're right. I don't know anything about you guys. Forgive me for trying to be a nice, caring guy." I could see the sadness in his eyes as he slowly turned and walked away.
I was going to call out to him but I needed to go get home. The quicker I picked up clothes, the faster I would be able to see my dad. He was more important than a gorgeous police officer I'll probably never see again.
