"Wait did you say a guy hit you?" My brother Derick yelled, instantly getting to his feet and putting his hands into a tight fist. His arms easily flexed and the veins began to show. I could tell adrenalin was pumping through his veins and he was in fight mode. Great.
"He didn't mean to Derick! He went to punch Tyler and I jumped in the way." I shouted, shooting to my feet and pushing him back down on the chair before he could decide to do anything drastic.
"He fucking hit you Alexa!" Derick yelled, shoving me backwards so he could stand up.
"Yeah? Well you just pushed me!" I defended, crossing my arms over my chest and glaring my big brother right into his gray eyes.
"So are we going to jump this kid or what?" Dylan questioned, walking into the living room with a big bull of ice cream in his hands.
"There is no we in this. I'm going to kick this kids fucking ass myself!" Derick shouted, stomping over to the door while quickly slipping his hoody jacket on.
"Fight him and Ill fuck all your best friends as pay back!" I lightly tossed over my shoulder with a smirk on my face.
"Woah! Yeah, bro, you have definitely got to fight him. I mean imagine how flexible your sister is. She has been in dance class all her life!" Dylan piped up, forgetting about his ice cream and looking up from where he was sitting on the couch.
In a blink of an eye Derick was across the living room and had Dylan slammed up against the wall.
"Say that again. I dare you!" Derick growled in a low and deadly tone.
Could this day get any better? Ugh!
"Oh my god Dylan just stop. Derick just stop! You don't even know where he lives."
"He cheated on you then he hit you Lexi!" Derick yelled, dropping a smirking Dylan from the wall and turned to glare at me.
I felt a slight pinch in my heart at seeing my brother so worked up over this but quickly ignored it.
"I all ready said this he did not mean to hit me." I yelled, throwing my hands up in the air.
Derick didn't reply and just glared me down. I tossed my auburn hair over my shoulders and met his look dead on. One thing I learned as a kid; never, and I mean ever, back down to him. Then he will expect you to back down at every war.
"If he ever so as looks at you again, talks to you, or even thinks about you... I will fucking rip him apart." Derick seethed stomping out of the living room.
A few seconds later I heard the garage door slam making me flinch slightly.
"Ughhh!" I sighed, flopping down on the plush couch right next to Dylan.
"I was kind of hoping he would beat him up so you and me could finally have some fun." Dylan chuckled, leaning back with me and tossing his arms over my shoulder.
I breathed in his familiar scent of mint and pine trees with a content smile slipping onto my face. Leave it to Dylan to crack jokes at a time like this. I hate when Derick pulls the 'protective brother' crap.
"Don't let him get to you Lexi. He is just mad you got hit in the face, that's all." Dylan said, breaking the silence.
"Dylan I think I'm smart enough to put two and two together." I rolled my eyes shoving him playfully.
*****
"Drink some more vodka!" Lexi yelled over the loud music that was pumping through the house.
Two people were grinding right behind me and every second someone would keep bumping into me. People would shouldering their way past everyone, knocking peoples drink's over, just to get to the kitchen. From the corner of my eye I could see a girl leaning over a plant puking her guts out. A couple feet away from me a couple were arguing throwing their hands up and into the air.
