Mew! Mew!

A red fox was awoken by the sorrowful sound of a kit crying for its mother. Sniffing around, he found his way to the young kit. The fox made a muffled whimpering sound, seeing how the kit would respond.

The kits ears turned to the fox. Eeow? The kit made a different, more distinct sound this time. The fox understood that the kit needed help. He decided he would bring the kit to the last place he had smelt cat. He picked up the kit in his mouth.

Eee! The kit complained. The fox loosened his grip a little. The kit sounded in pain.

Finally, they reached the strong smell of cat. The fox realized they were all living in an open space, so this was probably where the kits mother was.

He dropped the kit softly onto the ground. It was night so expected the cats to find the kit in the morning. But apparently, some of them were awake now.

"Fox! Fox!" Cried one cat, waking the others. The fox wanted to explain, but all he heard was MEEEOOOW! He couldn't speak cat, and they couldn't speak fox.

Quickly, he snapped around and ran off into the night.

"A fox left a kit??? How can we trust a kit left by a fox?...."
