"You look absolutely gorgeous tonight, Amethyst Claire." Tom smiled as his grip around Amethyst tightened. "Thank you." Amethyst giggled as she shyly looked down, the heat beginning to rise up her neck. "Do you like it?" Tom asked, and Amethyst quickly looked up, her eyes instantly meeting Tom's. "Like what?" "The dress." Tom replied with a chuckle, and Amethyst gasped as her eyes widened. "You bought this dress for me?"
"Yeah," Tom chuckled nervously, "Arden and Scarlett helped me out, but yeah, I did." "Tom," Amethyst smiled as tears brimmed her eyes, "you didn't have to. Oh my god, it's so beautiful.. I just-" "No need to thank me, love." Tom smiled as he pulled Amethyst a little closer to him, "you deserve it." Amethyst smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder. Tom closed his eyes as he enjoyed Amethyst in his arms, gently swaying her back and forth. The truth is.. He was still head over heels in love with her. He meant everything — every word, and every pick up line he said to her. There isn't a girl who will ever replace Amethyst. No girl can compare to her, ever.
To add.. He never really liked Raven. Sure, he kind of finds her interesting, but Amethyst meant the whole world to him. He needed to avenge what Raven and Kyle did to her by faking his feelings for Raven. He needed to get information out of her, so he grew close to her; and, he wanted to tell Arden whatever he found out. No one knew, especially Amethyst. "Tom?" Amethyst spoke up, and Tom snapped out of his thoughts before he looked down at her. "Hm?"
Amethyst lifted her head up, and Tom stared deeply into her eyes. "Thank you.. For everything, in just a short amount of time. I owe you so much, and I know I can't thank you enough, or repay you in any way.. But, most of all, thank you for making me so happy. I haven't been myself for the past months or so, and I didn't realize how taking Kyle back was such a stupid decision. You brought out the Amethyst I never knew existed. You changed me, and made such a huge impact in my life. I know we're different people, but when our worlds collided.. It felt like I've known you forever."
Tom smiled and placed his forehead against hers. "Amethyst, you don't have to thank me. It is you I have to thank. You made me the happiest man out there, and you also brought out the Tom I never even knew existed. Thanks for making me laugh and smile, and thanks for all the fun memories we made so far. You also made such a huge impact in my life, and thank you for making my life even more amazing. I owe you quite a lot." Amethyst smiled and she felt herself leaning in. No no, Amethyst. Don't do it. Tom leaned in as well, his heart doing somersaults in his chest as his eyes fluttered shut.
All of a sudden, Tom was pulled away from Amethyst, making her stumble back a bit. The song was now over, and a new song began to play. "Sorry, Amethyst. I need to borrow Tom for a while. Happy birthday once again!" Raven waved with a smile as she dragged Tom away from the dance floor.
Amethyst stood there on the middle of the dance floor with tears forming in her eyes, wishing that she should've just kissed him on the spot.
