   Rosemary's POV

I awoke to the sound of rain pattering against my window. The sky was dark and gloomy. I had nothing better to do and I loved the rain, so I decided to go for a walk. I had a feeling that I would get in trouble if my parents caught me out in the rain, so I decided to climb out of my window. I used to do that before the accident. This would be the first time trying it with a crooked leg.

I opened the window and a cool breeze drifted through followed by the smell if fresh rain. I climbed out onto the branch of the tree next to my house and half slid half climbed down. When my feet touched the ground I fell over on my back. Ouch. I thought grimacing.
I stood back up and ran in the opposite direction of my house. Laughing and shouting I ran through the rain, feeling free from my pains and sarrows. Running with my eyes closed wasn't the best idea....
Thump!
I ran into something hard. I shook my head to clear it and was instantly on the ground with a rifle barrel pointed at my face.
"Why are you running girl!? Answer me or else!" The Nazi guard's harsh voice made my face go pale. Or was it the fact that I had a riffle pointed directly at me...
Anyways, I sat there pale and horrified. "I-I'm so sorry sir, you see, I was running through the rain because I have been feeling v-very depressed lately and I thought a run would clear my head." I explained quickly. He narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing me. I started to feel very uncomfortable.
"Why are you depressed?" He pressed.
"My younger brother, Desmond, just passed away sir. He was very ill and we traveled all over Germany, trying to find a cure but he died a few weeks ago. I promise I didn't mean any harm." I pleaded desperately; tears arose in my eyes. "Humph! You think I beleive that bullshit? How do I know that you aren't a spy or a- something like that." He yelled. But the last part sparked curiosity inside me. "No sir! I swear I am only trying to make my self-pity disappear!" I said holding my arms out I front of me. "Wait, are you Rosemary? Rosemary Scwartzcoff? You have an interesting bracelet on." He asked lowering his riffle. I nodded and whipped my eyes. "Your father is a very important and wealthy business man! I would be in big trouble if he found out I shot his daughter." He laughed ruefully and held out his hand to help me up. When I stood back up he smiled but then frowned. "Do not going running with your eyes closed again, alright Rosemary? I will see you around. I hope." He added quietly. A chill ran up my spine. "Wait, aren't you going to escort me home?" Asked shocked. "Why would i need to do that? Now leave before you get into more trouble." I turned around and walked to the bridge that crossed the river where Rudie and I would throw rocks after school. As I walked over it I smiled remembering those times.
"Oh how I wish I could see you again, my friend. I hope you will remember me..." I murmured to my self.
That's it! I'll go to his house and- no, I'll just right a letter. I thought happily. Hope fluttered like a bird inside my heart at the thought.

I opened the door and ran upstairs quickly. After I put on some dry clothes and wrapped my long, wet hair in a towel, I sat at my desk and took out a pen and some paper.

Dear Rudie...

So... What'd ya think?? Honestly, I think that one guard is pretty creepy. But that's what makes it interesting!!👍 I hope y'all like it so far!😉
