ANNABETH's POV
His name was Helios. The boy I met in class...
We've been dating for.. Maybe 7 months now.
He's handsome, funny, and stunning, all in one.
I really need to snap out of this.
I'm Athena's child, not Aphrodite's.
So there we sit, on the couch watching high school musical, laughing and singing.
We both personally hated the movie.
But it was fun to sing to.
Helios laces his fingers through mine, and we smile.
We stop for awhile, because A: we're laughing too hard, and B: I have geography homework to finish. He falls asleep on my couch, drooling on the pillow leaving crust on my pillowcase. I can't help but tear up.
That's what Percy used to do.
"Stop Annabeth!" I scold myself aloud.
I sigh. Avalon strides in, her hands holding a few shopping bags. She puts them down and laughs. "Helios is drooling on our pillows. Tell him to stop!"
She says jokingly. I roll my eyes and write my essay for geography in Greek, which makes it easier for me. At least it wasn't English.
Avalon and I sit on the couch, Helios still asleep. His legs lie on my lap.
I smile and stroke his hair out of his eyes. Beautiful blue eyes...
My phone buzzes. Which is weird. No one ever calls me. Avalon squints. "You have a phone?" She asks. I sigh. "Only for emergencies. Besides, no one I talk to anymore even has my number. Probably a phone company."
She nods and I pick up.
"Hello?"
I ask, my voice quiet.
The voice doesn't reply.
"Hello?!" I ask again, a big harshly.
"Annabeth?"
"Percy?"
Oh gods no.
And with that, I hang up.
