Chapter 6

Shai POV

I turned my back for what felt like the umpteenth time someone was poking me with a stick.

I groaned before sitting up and being surprised to seeing Joey standing near the side of my bed.

"Aunt Shai, I'm hungry."

"What ?"

My mind woke up along with me, so we're both not quite registered yet.

"My tummy is hurts."

I face palmed myself, totally forgetting that I asked Raven if I could  watch Joey while she attended school today.

"Auntie-"

"I'm up, I'm up."

She was already dressed up and everything, so it looked like I didn't have to go through that process with her.

"Let me freshen up, I'm not going to be too long."

"Alright."

I got up and got my stuff together so I could get myself ready in the bathroom.

Once I was done, I put my bright ass hair in a messy bun.

"Come on, let's go to the kitchen. Maybe I can whip you up something."

I picked her up and placed her on my back.

"You can cook ?"

"You'd be surprised by some of the things I've done and can do."

"Like what ?"

"This is a secret, but when I was six I earned the name flash ?"

"Why ?"

"I could run faster than a cheetah."

"No way !"

"I bet I can run around you a million times."

"No you can't !"

"Bet."

I sat her on the table.

"You ready ?"

She nodded before giggling.

"One, two, three-"

"Go !", She laughed.

I stood in position and stood like like for about three seconds.

"You saw that ?"

"Saw what ?"

Her face was so confused and it was so cute and funny.

"How could you miss me ?"

"But I was looking at you."

"Told you I was fast."

"Was not."

"Was too."

"Was not."

"Was too."

"Was not."

I stared at the slight smirk she had on her face. I smiled to myself as the memory of Josiah popped into my head.

He had that smirk. Like father like daughter.

She's my brother twin.

"Aunt Shai, Who your brother ?"

I said that aloud ? No I didn't. Am I tripping ?

"What do you want to eat ?"

"Some French toast please."
