It's late at night
But I lack a fright
With the gentle candle light
And my plights
Through tired sights
Are nothing from a deep dream's heights
The sobbing sky
Her lullaby
Steadily, leading to swiftly pry
At my dreams with a cry
A crash, a flash, rash and wry
But for now, my thoughts
Jumbled and shallow
Are night dreams
Sheltered by shadow
And may night guard my weary eyes
Until day, with her flamboyance
Breaks with garish skies
