Chapter 1

Ever since I met him, I'm not getting bullied as much. In fact, I don't remember the last time anybody has bullied me after I became friends with Andre. My life has changed so much, in such a short period of time. Just because I met him But I still have my suspicions about him. Even if we are great friends now. I mean, who can make or generate an amber light from their hands that generates warmth, and heals wounds? I'll get the courage to ask him that question some other time. Anyways, back to the present now, Andre is taking me to his favorite "hangout place" in his neighborhood. His mom was driving me, him, his friend, Kenny, and Stella to the "mystery haven". "Hmmm Kenny, that sounds familiar," I thought. Wait, could that be, never mind... there's no way... Sorry, getting a little off topic here. I felt guilty thinking about Andre's mom because, well she did kind of remind me of my mom. I don't remember exactly what my mother looked like but I do have pictures. Those dark brown eyes, straight black hair, attached earlobes.Ok, maybe I'm getting too into detail. Andre sensed my discomfort and asked me what was going on, after all, he had told me that his dad had left him at age six. I decided to tell him after his mom had dropped us off. To be honest, I was still feeling a little awkward, but at least I came with Stella, and Andre took his friend, Keith. I was very surprised when I came to a Taekwondo place called Challenge Martial Arts. It honestly looked like a for closed building, paint peeling off the walls, windows dirty. The doorknob was rusted. I tried to open the door knob but it wouldn't budge. I peered through the window, it was so blurry I couldn't see a thing.

"See you soon sweety~," Andre's mom called.

"Bye mom..." Andre replied rather hastily.

Keith snickered,"Your mom still calls you sweety?"

"This is getting old Ken," Andre sighed.

"Is this the place?" I asked

"Yeah," Keith emphasized.

"How do we get in?" Stella remarked.

"By portal," Andre plainly replied.

"Come here," Keith motioned to us.

" Why? I honestly can't trust you people. I only came here because of ...," Stella remarked with her head held high until Keith pulled her by the wrist.

" Why did you do that for? So rude mmpphh ," I covered Stella's mouth.

"Ok I'll stop, happy now?" Stella stubbornly replied.

"Someone is coming!" Andre hissed.

"I want to use my camouflage device right now..." Keith whimpered.

"That building has been like that for years. I wonder when they are going to open up that place yet," a female voice spoke.

"Yes I've always wanted my sis to learn defensive skills. What a shame that place will never open anytime soon." a male voice responded.

Hey that's Ken's voice I thought to myself. My brother Ken, not this Ken. I peered over to see my brother, holding hands with a woman about his age. I wanted to march up to him and ask him why he had a girlfriend already, he had no time for that, between hanging out with his girlfriend and taking care of the family and his studies. Didn't he know that he already had a lot on his plate to do, and now he added his girlfriend to the list when he is already having trouble with what was already on his plate. I just kneeled there staring at them, until I felt Andre pull my hand down. I glared at him with fiery eyes and gave him a why did you do that for face. He just gave me the Asian face and the you should lucky I did that or we all would be in trouble face. I sat back down and waited until they were gone. I'm not going to let that slip easily Ken, I mumbled under my breath.

"C'mon before anybody else comes by!" Andre insisted.

We all walked through the back way of the building. Until, we were faced with another door.
