Chapter 30

*Harry's POV*

Seeing Andy just kiss Liam casually made me fume and feel even more broken. But I'm not letting him win.

I love you, Harry. Please just know that. I heard Liam's voice in my head and I froze in place. Did he really just say that? Did I hear him in my head? Is that possible? I looked at Liam as Andy drove off and saw his eyes look desperate. I knew that I wasn't just hearing things. I knew he really just said that and I heard him clearly in my head.

"I love you, Li." I mouthed to him and I saw him smile before he was out of sight in Andy's car.

I closed the door and walked back in the living room with Karen, Ruth, Nicola, and Louis frowning at me. I felt dazed about what just happened. Liam just communicated with me in my head. I know for sure that it happened. But how?

"Haz, you okay? Do you wanna go now?" Louis asked me, bringing me out of my daze. 

"What? Uh...No. I wanna talk about what they know about us," I said and looked at the girls.

They nodded at us and Karen said, "We do know that you and your families are vampires. But we have nothing against you. We know you don't hunt people, let alone hurt them."

"You do?" Louis said confusedly.

"Yes. We trusted you with Liam because we knew about your...diets. You eat human food and only hunt animals," Ruth replied.

"How'd you know or find out?" I asked curiously.

"Geoff and I knew about the Academy years ago. They told us about the common eating habits of vampires, mainly your families. They tried to recruit us as the leaders because they knew how much influence we had over the town. But we refused to hunt down vampires to extinction. We don't believe in that. Everyone deserves to live; no matter who or what they are, and how long they live," Karen said. 

"We knew they wanted Liam to be a part of it, because Liam had such an impact on the town. But Liam is good and knows what's right and wrong. He doesn't want to kill vampires, or even anyone. Andy just got in the way and convinced him," Ruth said bitterly.

"And that's why we trust vampires more that hunters. Hunters can be ruthless and don't understand anything about vampires. All they think is that they don't deserve to keep living and that's stupid," Nicola said.

"So you aren't scared of us?" Louis asked.

"Not really. We do know that you can be dangerous, but we trust you. We know you wouldn't hurt Liam on purpose. That's why we need your help to get our brother back," Ruth said.

"What can we do?" I asked.

"You need to stop whatever Andy is planning on using Liam to lead. I think they have a grand scheme on how to get rid of vampires for good, but we don't know the specifics," Karen said.

"We sent Niall to find out the plan," I said confidently.

"Yeah...we apparently trust one hunter now," Louis said.

"Don't worry about Niall. He really is trustworthy. I've always preferred him over Andy as Liam's best friend," Karen said, smiling at us.

"He should be back soon to tell us what it is. What should we do when we find out?" I said.

"You should figure out how to stop it from the inside out. Meaning, you need Liam to end the plan before it starts," Nicola said.

"How?" Louis asked.
