Matskuni's POV:
She's losing it.
Natsumi was collapsed on the floor breathing heavily, while Tsubame and Layla, whom had come in to see if we needed anything, were calming her down. Jakurou and I stood at a corner of Sumi's room watching the entire thing and finally Reiki was out of the room explaining what's going on to Luna and Lucas because they were wondering what all the racket was.
"I knew it would be bad," Jakurou said chasing away the deep silence that consumed us, "But I would've never thought it would be this bad." He said motioning over at our friend.
"Yeah, I agree." I muttered, tearing my gaze away from the panicking Natsumi. Reiki came back in with Luna and Lucas rushing in behind her and taking Tsubame's place.
"Seems to me like this isn't the first time Sumi has freaked out like this." Reiki stated as she reached us and crossed her arms, looking back at the younger Dragneel siblings as they expertly calmed their older sister down.
"Looks like it," Tsubame whispered sadly, "We've been apart longer than I thought." she commented with a faint grin.
Jakurou returned the look, "Yeah, I guess we have." I glanced at them, studying their expressions. They all looked sad in their own way. Jakurou seemed emotionally distant but I could clearly see the worry and hurt in his indigo eyes, Reiki and Tsubame didn't even bother to conceal their despair as they openly sobbed in each others arms and as I looked over at the Dragneels, Layla and her younger siblings held soothing complexions as the calmed their sister but a small hint of sadness was clear in their eyes.
Has this really happened before? If so, then why has she never told us? And how many times has this already happened?
Soon enough after these thoughts, Natsumi's loud, ragged breathing calmed and quieted. Layla slowly and cautiously lifted her of the ground, whispering encouraging words in her ear as she did so, Luna and Lucas remained close by for extra support if she collapses once more. Layla sat her down on her bed and released her when she was certain she could hold herself up.
"Thank you..." Natsumi finally muttered when she seemed to have found her voice. Layla led Luna and Lucas out, them complaining as she did so, she told them to wait for her outside then closed the door in their faces.
She sighed then turned her gaze over to us, "Care to explain to me why Natsumi got a panic attack after almost eight years of being attack-free?", her glare was hot and penetrating giving us all a chill down our spines.
"I explained everything to Luna and Lucas, they should be able to tell you." Reiki declared as strongly as she could. Layla stood silent for a moment so she could look us each in the eye as if she searched for a lie until her tense shoulders relaxed slightly and sighed, her glare melting away with her anger.
"Okay then. I'll leave you all alone. I have a feeling you still have important things to discuss." She said in a defeated tone, gesturing at Natsumi who was staring off into space with a blank look. We all nodded in agreement, understanding what she meant. She soon left the room with a wave, a faint smile and some 'sisterly advise'.
Be gentle, she's still fragile.
"Natsumi?" Tsubame hesitated when reaching out for her, "Are you alright?"
She nodded slightly in response. I raised my eyebrow at her, "Are sure? Cause you sure as hell don't look like it." I commented.
"Matskuni," Jakurou warned putting a hand on my shoulder, "Remember what Layla said." His indigo eyes stared me down, reaching deep into my soul.
