So this story is based off the great book by Stephanie Meyers, Twilight (The movie!). There are probably alot of re-writes for the book but this is mine! It has the same basic plot as twilight, just altered to better fit in with Camren! I hope you like it!
The car ride back to my dad’s house was quiet except for little chatter in the beginning as we caught up. There really wasn’t much to catch up on to be honest. Life at home was pretty boring, and I can’t imagine life in this little town could be that exciting even if dad was head sheriff around here. There was only a population of 3,120 people…I had about that many kids in my school back in Phoenix.
Other than a couple stories of people dying by wild animals out near the woods my dad didn’t have much to say. He was a quiet man, soft spoken, didn’t really like to say much to be honest. He was a very caring man though, don’t get me long. When he finally moves on room my mom and settles down with another women, she’ll be a real lucky lady.
"Your hairs longer" My dad said out of the blue, glancing over at me in hopes to spark some sort of a conversation. "Oh…really?" I mumbled, running my fingers threw my long chocolate brown locks. "I cut it a little since the last time I saw you…" I awkwardly responded, sharing another glance with him "Oh…guess it grew out again" I chuckled to my self, setting my gaze at the log truck that just past the car while getting lost in my thoughts again.
Now here I was, letting out a long sigh as I starred at the familiar house with a ghost of a smile on my face. “And here we are” I pushed open the door to his car, softly shutting it while admiring my childhood house for a while. Nothing has changed…that’s what I like about Forks. Nothing changes here, they aren’t exactly a town that is high tech. They don’t get new things unless they absolutely need new things…Forks was old fashion and it’s something I’ve come to love about the place. It had an eery mysterious vibe…and even if I grew up here I still haven’t figured out all it’s secrets. Mostly because I was to young to understand.
My dad struggled to get all my bags in one trip, the sight was pretty funny. He had bag’s wrapped up his arms, one around his neck, his face was turning red by the second.
"I’m good" He just barely muttered out, awkwardly trying to shut the trunk with his foot but it wasn’t working out to well for him. "Dad I’m a pretty strong girl, I think I can help" I chuckled over to him, quickly shutting the trunk while taking some of my bags off his hands.
He sighed and relief, pressing a quick kiss on my cheek before leading the way to the front door. I nervously glanced around, making sure the neighbors weren’t out to see the kiss on the cheek. Yes, I was embarrassed of my dad kissing me on the cheek…I’m practically in collage I don’t need him kissing my cheek in public. “Way to be subtle” I muttered, hearing him burst with laughter
which cued a bigger smile to form on my lips.
I stepped threw the threshold and breathed in the old scent of the house, smiling to myself as I imagined little me running up and down the stairs dressed as a fairy princess. This house was my child hood…It felt really great to be back inside of it to make new memories. We shuffled up the stairs quietly, the steps squeaking under my feet.
"I plan on getting some extra shelves up in the bathroom" He informed me as we past it "Oh yeah…one bathroom" I flatly responded, glancing in on it with a sigh.
"Your room is still exactly how you left it" My dad continued to inform me, making me giggle a little bit. He wasn’t kidding when he said it was exactly the way I left it…when I was like 7. I at least would have thought he would take down the crayon pictures that hung on the wall.
My dad must have noticed the look on my face because he quickly began to ramble on “Well maybe not entirely. I picked out this desk for you…well a buddy of mine made it. And this is a pretty nice work lamp” He flickered the old lamp on and off, it was delayed a little but it had a nice shine to it. “The sales lady picked it out” I nodded, typical dad…doesn’t have one shopping bone in him.
"And she also picked the bed stuff out…you like purple right?" I quickly nodded "Yeah, oh yeah purples great" My dad smiled proudly "See I know you better than you thought I did" I shrugged "Well you are my dad…I would hope you knew what my favorite color was" He patted my head like a dog with a light chuckle, I just rolled my eyes and shuffled off towards the window.
I deposited my cactus on the desk beside it, the only reason I brought it was to remind me of my second home, Arizona. It was one of the many cactus’s that we had scattered around the house…this one was always my favorite to look at. Some times when I had a rough day I just glanced off at it and sat there deep in thought…imaging all my troubles getting stuck on the thorns and crumbling to the floor and off of my shoulders.
"Okay…well I’ll leave you alone to get situated, oh and Randy is coming along with his boy Aaron. You two use to play together as kids" I nodded, chuckling "Just thought I’d tell you-" "Thanks" I quickly said, he mumbled a quick your welcome than vanished from my doorway.
One of the best things about my dad is…he doesn’t hover. My mom on the other hand always has to know every little thing that going on. I’m not even kidding, she sits me down and has me go over every conversation I had with my friends the day.
I plopped down on the fluffy bed, looking around my child hood bedroom with a happy smile. I could already tell it was going to be a great JR year.
