It had been 2 years. Our trio of friends had been through a lot. Sam dying. Dean selling his soul to a crossroads demon for Sam. I had tried to get it past me that it was time for Dean to go.

"Thanks Elena. For everything. I know you haven't known me long. But please take care of Sammy over there. I know he wouldn't be able to go on without me. Take care of him. Please, promise me that?"

"Dean, you can't make me promise that. " I said, almost in tearsy. He grabbed my hand and looked at me sincerely.

"Please?" he said, his eyes starting to shine from tears forming.

"I will."

Seeing Sam go through hell after seeing his brother die and Lilith killing him. He had decided to go on his own. He asked me to leave him. Let him be. I had no choice but to listen to him, knowing that it would bite me in the ass later.

It had been half a year since Dean left. Sam and I had gone our separate ways.

I was currently driving down to where Sam was. without his knowledge, I had placed a tracker in Deans car so I could follow him or find him when I needed him. Hunting wasn't my forte but after learning about the monsters that lurked in the dark, I needed to help. I went through a nest 2 months ago and killed a wendigo. I needed to keep busy.

I called Sam but only got the voicemail in return.

"Hey, Sam? Call me when you get his message." I said, following the map on my phone to his location. I parked in front of a bar he was currently residing in. I got out of my car and slowly walked inside. Sam was with someone. I couldn't quite listen to what he was saying to her. Her eyes finally turned black and my instincts kicked in. I was going to kill her. I stopped when I saw Sam cut her wrist. What was he doing? he then proceeded to put her arm up to his lips. My eyes widened as I continued to watch him drink demon blood. What was this dumbass thinking! I quickly ran out of the bar and drove away as fast as I could.

"Take care of Sammy, Elena." Dean's words continued to ring in my head. I didn't take care of him. I felt like I betrayed him. What was I going to do?

I had parked a block away from the bar I had seen Sam in. Tapping the steering wheel, I stared out to see Sam walking to the impala. I waited a couple of seconds after Sam darted out of the parking lot to follow him. After a while, he finally parked near a small hotel on the side of the nearest freeway. He had gotten out and I decided to sleep in the car.

Opening my eyes, I looked over to see an unfamiliar car near Sam's hotel room. I grabbed my gun from the box next to me and walked towards his room. Quietly, I went through the back door of the hotel to go to Sam's room. All of a sudden I heard a big bang in his room and I jumped. I ran towards his door and slammed into it. Using my foot, I kicked it open and clicked the safety off of my gun.

"Sam?" I asked, before I noticed Sam holding someone against the wall. Bobby was here as well, pulling Sam back trying to let the intruder go.

"It's me, man." the intruder said, the light not shining on his face. He walked towards us and I instantly recognized him. Dean. he looked at me and smiled.

"You son of a bitch." I half yelled half screeched. I ran towards him and punched him as a hard as I could. He collapsed on the floor, his hand covering his nose. I hadn't broken it but I sure as hell was going to injure him

"Damn it, Elena!" Dean shouted, standing up.

"Who the hell are you." I said, ignoring his comment. Raising the gun, I pointed it directly at him, Sam and Bobby flinching.
