..........

Matt and I had just finished up at the library. The two of us were studying for our calculus test that was tomorrow. I pretty much knew all of the content but I had to make sure that I aced the test. My future depended on it. I know, over dramatic but that's just how I am. "Matt I'm so nervous about that test tomorrow. What if I do bad?" He laughed and closed his textbook. "Why are you laughing? I'm being serious!" I told him.

"You couldn't do bad even if you tried. You know you'll do fine, you just have to stop second guessing yourself." He glanced down at his phone, apparently noticing what time it was. "Crap! I need to be home in ten minutes to help with dinner." He shoved his books into his backpack and stood up. I packed my bag and stood up as well.

"Yeah, I guess I'll get going too. I have to stop by my dad's office to talk to him about something before he leaves. I'll talk to you later though. I'll call you tonight!" I said to him. Yeah, I guess you could say we're pretty lame, we still ACTUALLY talk on the phone. I walked out of the building and to the parking lot where my car was. I just hope my dad hasn't left yet for drinks with the guys. I got into my car and I put the address into the GPS on my phone. I could never remember how to get to his office. Once I arrived at the large office building I found the right parking lot to park in. There were two different lots. One for the employees, and one for everyone else. I parked my car and decided to go and wait by his car. I knew that he should be almost out and I could just talk to him there. I walked over to the employee parking lot where his car would be. I was just about to walk up to his car when I saw something in it. I looked through the back windshield and I couldn't believe what I saw. My dad was in the back seat with a woman who wasn't my mom and they were making out. And before you think I could've seen wrong, I definitely know what I saw. Was my dad cheating on my mom? I tried holding back the tears as I slowly backed away and ran back to my car. I didn't want my dad to see me. I got to my car and climbed in the driver's seat, slamming the door. I started crying and couldn't stop. Why would my dad do that to my mom? I didn't know what to do at that moment. Should I tell my mom? She'll be devastated if she finds out. I decided to call Matt because he always knows what to do in these kinds of situations. I wiped my eyes and quickly dialed his number in my cell phone. It rang once and he answered right away.

"Hey Rose! What's up?" He asked me. I tried fighting back the tears. I didn't want him to know I was crying.

"Oh you know, not much." I told him.

"Have you been crying?" He asked, curiously. Crap, I've been found out. I shook my head, even though he couldn't see me.

"No." I said, crying the second I responded.

"What's wrong?" He asked me. "Tell me. Please." I tried to get words out but it was hard.

"I-I went to my dad's w-work to talk to him about s-something and I saw him kissing a-another woman that wasn't my m-mom and I don't know what to do should I tell her because she'll be so upset if I do and Matt p-please just tell me what to do!" I said, still bawling.

"Ohmygod Rose I am so sorry. But you definitely should tell your mom. She deserves to know. And besides, if she finds out later on and then finds out that you knew she might be upset that you didn't tell her." I sighed.

"I guess you do have a point." I admitted.

"By the way Rose, I'm definitely coming over tonight once things are dealt with at your house." He said to me. I started crying more.

"No Matt, I'm sorry, I just need to be alone." I said before ending the call.

...........

I arrived at my house and parked in the driveway. I was so scared to tell my mom that my dad was cheating on her. I dried my eyes as best as I could because I hated people seeing me cry or people knowing that I cried. I stepped out of my car and walked to the front door, walking right in. My mom was in the kitchen, finishing putting away groceries from shopping. I sat down at the table, putting my backpack on the floor. My mom noticed me and a curious expression appeared on her face.
