Chapter 26

Mae’s P.O.V

‘Mae, Where are you?’

‘Tell me what I did wrong, and I will fix it’

‘Please don’t leave me like this’

‘I miss you, please come back’

‘Where are you? There has to be a reason why you left all of a sudden’

I sat there stunned at the text messages. There were more but I just can’t look at them. The more I read them, the more pain I will be going through. I walked out of the plane and in front of me was my worst nightmare. Nick’s and Charles mom was standing there with a big smile on her face. I walked up to her without a smile back.

“Now, I did as I promised, you can take me now” I replied as I stood there like a statuette.

“Take my hand” the woman held out her while palm and I lay my hands gently on top of hers. She gripped it softly and we disappeared in a blink of an eye, the next thing I know, I was in some sort of cave. It wasn’t any ordinary ones, it was like a home, and there were chairs, tables, and couches, even beds, but no TV’s or electronics (besides phones).

“This is Charle’s mate” The Nick’s mom said and I whipped my head to the side and found a stern man looking at me. He was broad, had dark eyes, and he was walking around me. Is he Nick’s dad? What was he called again...? Oh yeah! The name is Alpha.

“I never thought that his mate would be such a pretty and young girl. He has been jumping around with women until he met you, huh?” The man said with a deep voice and I faked a smile.

“So has Charle’s told you anything about our family yet?” He asked, and right then I thought of Nick. I remembered what he had told me.

“You are the alpha of the pack, but whoever finds there mate first will be the one that you hand the pack to right?” I looked up at him and he clapped his hands with pleasure, grinning from one corner of his mouth to the other.

“So you know a little about our pack? Good. Now, Rest up, and we’ll start your wedding on Sunday. Aren’t you excited?” The Alpha asked. Do I like it? Do you think I like it? I hate it.

“Yes I like it a lot” I forced a smile on my face as Nick’s mom lead me to my room. It was decorated with flowers and the bed was white itself but the blankets and pillows are beautified with pink blossom flowers coming out from each end. I put my suitcase down to the side and went up to the bed sitting down on it creating lines of wrinkles on the perfectly spread sheets. My fingers went to my pocket and I pulled out the key chain photo of me and Nick. He was leaning close to me laying his soft, warm lips on my now red lobster cheeks and my eyes widened in shock while he smiled with his eyes closed. That moment was like a decade ago, when we were in each others arms, having fun in Hawaii. Apart from him one day is like going away for a century, how can I live without him? The door creaked and I put the photo in the drawer next to my bed quickly. Charles entered with a smile on his face as he approached the bed and took a seat close to me.

“What brings you here to be my wife, darling?” Charles smiled as he bent his index finger, using the surface of it and ran it down my cheeks; I nudged away with an annoying frown. I didn’t want to answer his questions, so I stayed silent.

“I guess you did it for him? Even though I have your body, but your spirit is not with me huh?” Charles looked at me and cupped my face into his hands bringing our face closer. I tried to pull away from his fierce grip but his fingers were like piercing claws through my cheeks.

“Why don’t we invite my brother to our wedding honey?” Charles asked and it caught my attention. I look straight into his eyes shaking my head slowly from side to side.
