I was spiraling, tumbling downwards rapidly. I could feel the cold bite at my exposed skin. My dark hair darkened my vision further as gravity forced it against my face. I was reaching out above me, stretching as far as I could but I closed my fists around nothing only to continue my descent.

I felt different as I fell. Shakily I put my palms to my stomach but there was no trace of what I had believed to have taken the life from my eyes. I had felt it though, the sharp metal of the plane had pierced through me. It had been real and you were still not with me now.

My heart was sinking with me as I plunged through the frigid air. All consuming shadows took me further away from you calling out for me. Your ghostly voice like ice was haunting.

I'd always known I wouldn't be able to say goodbye even if it was my last chance. I couldn't live with myself if I didn't have you to make me tolerable. "I love you," I whispered, though I knew you couldn't hear me.

The feeling of falling soon after ceased. I was swallowed completely by the darkness. I hit the bottom with such force I gasped at the sickening sound of cracking bones. How was I still awake? I got lost there, time held no authority.

I looked around while the rest of my tired body lay immobile. The walls of a perfectly constructed tunnel were exposed by a yellowed flickering light. I tried to move and to my amazement I was able. I rolled to my stomach and used my remaining strength to push myself onto my hands and knees and a moment after I stood. Unsure of my footing I tentatively moved toward the light. I hoped that whatever or whoever was at the source would be an ally in this strange place.
