Chapter Four:

"It's nothing really. Just a scratch. " Isaac was trying to not show but when Thea touched his wound he flinched from her prying fingers. Only then she noticed he had a big angry scratch along his throat leading to his chest.

Isaac was trying to get Arisen's attention. She wanted to touch him and comfort him but to do that she has to speak with him and speaking with him brought lots of unpleasant memories. She cannot allow them to surface again. Those memories were painful.

Arisen was about to slowly retreat back to their apartment when Isaac reached forward and wrapped his hand along her forearm. His touch still evoked feelings in her that have no business to be there.

"Ari don't go. Stay with me." Isaac pleaded with his eyes. She thought for a second to just run away from him. Thea seemed to have disappeared.

"Only if you let go off my arm." Arisen demanded.

"Okay. I miss you Ari. Why won't you speak to me anymore? I know am a douche. I don't deserve your friendship but I still deserve an explanation as to why you avoid me like I have plague." Isaac demanded her full attention so she planned to give him but it's 'friendship' part that she has problems with. He need not know that. Atleast not yet. She missed him too and doesn't want to miss this chance to repair their lost friendship.

"Isaac, I miss you too. But you were not there for me when I needed you the most. I poured my heart out to you and you stomped on it. Why wouldn't I avoid you?" She almost screamed.

"Give me another chance Ari. I wanna try this new aspect of our friendship." Was he asking what she thinks he was asking.

"What are you asking exactly? " Arisen crossed her fingers discreetly behind her back.

"All am asking is a chance to be with you, as more. As in more than a friend." Isaac looked hopeful.

Arisen doesn't know why she would want to go through the rollercoaster that is a relationship again. But she has unconsciously started to smile. After all this time he still manages to make her smile.  It's the part were he makes her cry that she is more afraid off.

"Yes" she answered, shocked that her mouth betrayed her.

Isaac looked ecstatic.

"Tomorrow at 7. I will pick you up. Bye Ari." He bent forward and kissed on her cheek so softly that she thought she might have imagined it. But it didn't stop her hand from reaching out to touch her cheek or the smile or the blush that spread on her face.

Arisen, what have you got yourself into?

There you have it! Isaac and Arisen giving their relationship a chance.
