Chapter Six:

Everything Thea had done to acquire the project came to this moment. The reality suspended, Thea and Arisen held their breath. They were waiting for Grey’s answer.

“What do you say, Grey? We will do everything required to take care of her. You won’t have to do anything. We promise to not get in your way.” Thea was down to begging, her brother was certainly creating a suspense that most TV shows aspired to have. His face wasn’t giving anything away.

“When will she be here?” Grey demanded.

Thea and Arisen didn’t expect this.

“What?” Thea and Arisen cried together.

“You are actually consenting to this agreement? Let me get this right. You, Grey Logan, is willingly allowing a stranger into our home? Who are you and what have you done with our brother?” Thea asked. Thea is the only person who can get away with speaking to Grey like this.

He glared. “No, I am not. I am merely preparing myself for the inevitable doom that you two have planned for us.”

Thea glared right back. “I want our family together, I know you want it too and that is why YOU will not utter any bad comments when she is staying here. I will not speak with you, interact with you, cook for you or stay here otherwise.”

She seemed to reconsider the last part but the damage was done. “Yeah, and I will take Ari with me. Let’s see you fending for yourself.”

Arisen’s eyes nearly bulged out of her sockets.

Grey raised his eyebrow. “You know what? Go, and take Ari with you. Let’s see YOU fending for yourself.”

Arisen knew if she allowed this argument would lead to a massive fight. So, like the good little sister she is, she tried to diffuse the tension.

“Grey, you know, the elders would be proud of Thea for drawing the contract but YOU, consenting it, would be the icing on the cake.” Arisen, pleaded with her eyes.

Thea caught the drift and tried to change her strategy by buttering up Grey. “Please Grey, say yes to this. We miss mum and dad, granddad and nana, don’t take this from us. She is good at what she does. There must be something good in her powers if others want it as well. She might be the one to heal us.”

Grey’s eyes softened for the second time that day and again, he schooled his expressions well. Arisen and Thea waited with baited breath for the second time that night. Grey looked thoughtful for a moment, then his impressive mask slid into its place.

“Again, when is she coming here to stay? If we are doing this, I need to know everything about this damned contract. And, be warned, if she encroaches on my personal space, I will hunt you both down.” Grey said heatedly.

OKAY. Grey loved his personal space I mean who didn’t. Thea thought understandably.

“And one more thing, what is this girl’s name? If she is staying in our home I need to know her name.” Grey asked curiously.

Thea liked where this was going. Curious Grey meant interested Grey. She could go ahead with loads of things with this interesting fact that Grey is genuinely curious.

“Anastasia Crème, that’s her name. You should try to….. maybe get to know her more; seeing as she can help with lots of pack related matter and you being a Beta, its important to keep her safe as well from the danger lurking in and out of our pack.” Thea said this with an idea already forming in her mind.

Oh what a devious mind that is.

Oh! What a devious girl! Arisen thought when she figured out Thea’s plan.
