Comment,Vote, Enjoy! I'm working on changing the perspective, its set in past but im bringing it to present so it will seem messed up until its all done.

Vanadesse’s POV:

The morning is brisk. Everyone’s hurrying to pack up their things and get riding. We have a long way to go from Lake Oruan to Faelwen; it will take us exactly the entire day. Hunter walks past Caleb and me as I saddle my horse. He smiles and pats Caleb on the back. Did I just see the unbelievable? Hunter patting Caleb on the back isn’t he mad at him? My eyes shift to Caleb—he’s smiling—I narrow my gaze at him.

“What was that about?” I growl, he laughs quietly and looks around. Like the answer to my question will be somewhere in the trees

“Nothing, I… talked to him when all of you went to sleep.” I raise my eyebrows in surprise, he talked to Hunter without the protection of me and he is still alive?

“And your still in one piece how?” my blood starts to boil, if Caleb says that Hunter had done anything to hurt him I was going to do the same to Hunter. No member of our society will harm another member on purpose, especially when they just joined.

“It’s complicated Vana, but I wouldn’t be worried about it.” He smiles at me and my anger settles. I watch Caleb heave one of the tent bags onto my horse’s back. His muscles gleam with beads of sweat; each individual muscle pulses against his skin as he holds the bag. When he looks at me with his shining green eyes something tickles in my stomach—too small to tell right now—but I can still feel it.

“Is something wrong Vana?” his voice sounds worried—I realize that I’m staring at him again—I shake my head.

“Huh? No nothing’s wrong” I turn to my horse’s side and tighten the straps. Aurora walks up to us and pats Maradar’s hind quarter.

“We are all ready to go Vana” she glares at Caleb, then bows her head to me and walks away. I hear a quiet sigh from Caleb as I mount my horse. I look around the camp—making sure we had gotten everything—I look down at Caleb after a moment,

“Wolf, turn so we can ride faster” in almost an instant he turns, his green eyes are lost and replaced with a golden color. His wolf is taller than my horse and is genuinely frightening at first glimpse. I yet again have to snap myself out of staring at him; I turn to the others and whistle for them to follow.  I pull on the reins to a hard right—Maradar protests with a short rear on his hind legs as he turns— I kick him in his sides and he takes off in a gallop. Caleb and the others follow close behind. As I planned we arrive at Faelwen’s steel gates when night settles on the land. The horses are hidden in the trees but not tied up—just in case we don’t make it back—everyone’s quiet. Caleb walks up in his human form, his eyes gleam with excitement.

“Can I help with this job?” he whispers to me, I nod to him. Why wouldn’t he be able to help? He’s one of us now, we all have to help.

“You can keep watch with Hunter since you two are best buds now.” He chuckle quietly and I smile at him. Everyone gets into position, Hunter and Caleb on top of a building keeping watch, Aurora and Selena  with me and Gwenyth, and Lyra and Lydia behind the gate ready for us to hand over the bow if we get caught. Mother’s house is quiet and cool; the door is locked so the only possible opening is the window. Gwenyth and I walk around as Selena and Aurora stay outside keeping guard. Gwenyth picks up one of her old toy bears—the stuffing has been pulled out of its ear and it’s missing an eye—she holds it up to me,
