Haunt of the Flying Dutchman!
Chapter One: Sandy's Experiment

Spongebob Squarepants' alarm clock resounded throughout his pineapple home. Gary, Spongebob's pet snail, meowed and went off to the kitchen to wait for his breakfast.

Spongebob jumped out of bed. "Good morning, Bikini Bottom!" he cheered and got out of bed. He walked to the bathroom and started his daily routine. He brushed his teeth, showered, tossed his pajamas in the laundry basket, and then walked downstairs to the kitchen to feed Gary.

The square sponge grabbed his Krusty Krab hat from his hat stand and walked into the kitchen. Gary was smack in the middle of the kitchen, meowing at Spongebob.

Spongebob bent down and patted his snail. "Time for breakfast, Gare-Bear!" he said lovingly and opened a cabinet above his kitchen sink. He grabbed a can of Snail Po, Gary's favourite, and used his can opener to open the cylinder-shaped can.

He dumped the contents of the snail food into Gary's food bowl. "Eat up, Gare-Bear! I've gotta go to work. I'll be home late today. Sandy's asked Patrick and I to help with an experiment."

Gary meowed in reply. Spongebob set a can of Snail Po in front of Gary. "If I'm not home by dinner time, you have to get your own dinner, okay? You know how to use the can opener. Fill up your water bowl! Bye, Gary!" Spongebob said and ran out the door. Gary had followed Spongebob into the hall, but he meowed and went back into the kitchen to eat.

At the Krusty Krab...

"Spongebob! You're two minutes late! That might be two pennies I'm losing!" Mr Eugene Krabs, Spongebob's boss, yelled.

Squidward Tentacles, Spongebob's colleague and neighbour, sighed when he saw Spongebob. He had an extreme disliking for the yellow sponge, though Spongebob didn't know it.

"Sorry, Mr Krabs! I had to talk to Gary. I'll be home late today, so I had to tell him to get his own dinner, fill up his water bowl, and-"

Mr Krabs covered Spongebob's mouth. "Alright, boy-o. Just get to work."

"Aye aye, sir!" Spongebob replied and walked into the kitchen. There were two orders waiting for him.

He skimmed through them. "For table 17...two Krabby Patties, two kelp fries and one large kelp shake. Easy!"

Spongebob grilled the patties quickly. As the smell reached his nostrils, he took a deep breath and smiled.

While the patties grilled, Spongebob made the kelp shake and the fries.

He ran to the grill, overturned the patties, and grabbed the kelp shake and set it on the plastic tray.

The fries were almost done, but the patties were completely done. Spongebob grabbed the patties and set them on two different buns. The mayonnaise, the mustard, the ketchup, tomato, lettuce, and pickles all fell into place. Spongebob set them next to the shake, and then got the fries into their packets. He set them next to the patties, and then opened the kitchen door in a way that Squidward liked to call 'obnoxiously annoying'.

Squidward dropped his magazine and glared at Spongebob as the fry cook served the food to a couple sitting at a corner.

"Enjoy your meal!" Spongebob said. The customers smiled gratefully and started to eat. Spongebob hopped back into the kitchen and started on the second order. One Krabby Patty. Easy!

He made it within seconds and set it on a tray. "Table 12!" he hollered and set it in front of a regular customer-Old Man Jenkins.

"Why thank you." the old man said and took a large bite of the patty.
