Chapter 2

I hear a muted scream escape through my lips. Tears immediately come to the forefront of my eyes.

I just saw my best friend slam into a log; his ski's fracturing into an ark of splintered wood. I watch him fly end over end through the air flailing about helplessly. I have to watch as he slams back down into the lake, water exploding out from the impact. I don't know how to respond, my body just shuts down, I stop even worrying about how Aaron is, I just cave in on myself, wrapping myself in my gloom I sit their oblivious to the outside world.

Oblivious until I feel hot hard muscular arms wrap around me, pull me up and bring me into an equally hardand well-defined chest. His body still wet covers me in frigid lake water, but I'm warm in his arms as he mutters in soothing tones that everything is going to be all right. "I am perfectly fine." He assures me whispering softly into my ear. I look up at the person holding me seeing how Aaron's golden brown hair glows in the sunlight, his deep blue eyes both comforting and playful. He stares down at me and I bite my bottom lip as he kisses my forehead and pulls me closer.

I can feel our friends sneaking looks of concern but I don't care. I need this right now. I hear Jason start the engine and Aaron lays me down so that my head is on his lap. He gently pushes my hair out of my face before resting his hand on my shoulder gently stroking it with his thumb.

As we coasted in towards the dock Aaron starts to lift me up but I move to stand. Aaron gives me a look and I cave, letting him carry me all the way up into the house. Sitting me down on the couch my eyes suddenly are sore, closing them I try to rest them but I immediately lapse into sleep.

I wake up to David gently rocking me awake. "What do you want?" I ask groggily

"Good morning sleeping beauty." I hear Aaron call from the kitchen.

David, responding to my question, tells me "The food's ready." I get up and follow him into the kitchen and fix myself a plate. I relax some when I see Aaron bustling around the kitchen completely fine.

"Hey, grab the plates out of their please." He directs while pointing towards the cabinet above and to the left of the stove.

"Sure," I reply chirpily and quickly try to forget my worries in a fun dinner with my friends.

Scraping the plates off after dinner I ask Sarah if she knows when we're leaving.

"Oh, well we kind of decided to spend the night here tonight while you were knocked out. I mean we were going to spend it at Emily's house anyway and the guys already called and asked so..." She trailed off not knowing how I would react. A big smile spread across my face. I love the lake house!... up until today nothing bad had ever happened here.

Getting ready for bed I heard a knock on my door. "Come in," I chimed up. I heard the door open behind me and I turned around to see Aaron standing in the doorway looking conflicted.

i didnot have an announcement of a change of pov because personally i dont really like when they do that in stories but is this confusing i think its ok because i dont change pov often
